When mortals die, they go to heaven. If you believe their religions, they also go to hell, or they are reincarnated.
What do you believe happens to gods and shinki when they die?

[...well, he walked right into that one, huh? Or he will, momentarily. Zeno doesn't expect a response and is, in fact, turning his phone off right now. A normal person would ignore this and move on, but Zeno isn't normal, and feels a sort of morbid obligation to see exactly what's going to happen. If something is wrong, someone should have an idea of what, exactly, it is.
He slips out without telling Kaya, and it's not like he announces all of his comings and goings, but there's a pit of guilt twisting in his stomach-- or there would be, if those sorts of pains didn't heal right up.
He approaches the redwood grove casually, but with no hesitation. There's no defensive behaviors, because what good would they do him? The most of his reactions is to look around.]
"Heyyy, for a meeting, you have to show up, too!"

The soft covering of leaves on the ground muffles Zeno's steps, but then he's considerate enough to call out. Jay doesn't move at first, listening intently to determine where, exactly, Zeno is, the direction of the wind through all those lovely rustling leaves high in the canopy, signs of any other people nearby...
Perfect.
In a single smooth movement Jay rolls up onto the balls of his feet, head and shoulders popping up above the softly rotten edge of the old stump just behind Zeno. There's a quick whistle of metal through air, and that's the only warning Zeno gets as Jay flings a heavy kitchen knife right at the base of his skull. ]

It's a good wound, deep and sticky, and his vision swims and darkens as his brain starts to shut down. Because it's so close to his ears he can hear the wet, squelching sounds of the tissue trying to repair itself, but so far from home, it's slow, and he loses his balance, falling unconscious to the ground.]

He needs to brace one foot against Zeno's head to hold the body still enough to pull his knife free, but then the evidence is removed. Without so much as a backward glance Jay heads off deeper into the woods, already choosing his footing carefully to hide his true footprints from any investigators.
He'll keep his promise, though. In a few days, he'll see if anyone remembers the name 'Zeno'. It's the least he can do. ]
