#showerthoughts #meta [VIDEO POST]

[Takuma propping up his head in his hand with his elbow planted firmly on the table.]

If you say "oh my god" as a shinki, are you referring to your own god? Do they feel it every time you say that?

If you say it as a god, who are you referring to? Are you talking about a god you really like?

Also, is it normal for shinki to refer to their god by their god name or their whatever name?

What if your shinki form was a toilet or a trash receptacle? What would you do then?

If a god were to pray, who would it be to? Would it be like someone who idolizes a J-Pop star?

These are the important questions.

And in this moment of peace with which you can do whatever you want, you chose to ask about shinki turning into toilets. Of all the things you could have done...

For which we're truly grateful.

[This is very obvious sarcasm. Erk rolls his eyes, and sighs again.]

Fine, since we're already this far into a discussion...

[He counts off his answers on his fingers:]

I have never said "oh my god", and have no plans to start. If one of the new gods said it, I would assume they were referring to whichever god they worshiped before becoming one. A shinki should call their god by whichever name their god prefers. If one's vessel form is... particularly unfortunate, that shinki should find other ways of being useful. And I see no reason why a god could not pray to another god, seeing as each has their own specific dominion.

[He's pointedly ignoring that first question.]

Not all of them, no. There are gods who have always been gods, but there are others who were... appointed, I suppose you could say. They were once ordinary people.

May I assume that you're a new arrival?

I'm a shinki. My god is Dokugakuji, or Ksitigarbha.

[He's obviously had a lot of practice pronouncing both of those names.]

Mm... I'm sure it's no less unnerving for them than it is for us. You can't tell an old god from a new one by appearance, however. Nor am I aware of any instances of new shinki being assigned to old gods...

[Erk's just glad they got away from the ridiculousness quickly. The conversation is much more tolerable now.]

The general consensus appears to be that it's random. If there is any rhyme or reason behind our assignment, I don't believe anyone's worked it out yet.

I've also been fortunate to have gods I get along with. Not everyone is so lucky.

Ideally, the god would agree to revoke the shinki's name, and the shinki would find a new god or be reassigned.

Of course, I'm sure it isn't always so simple. Be grateful you got paired with a good one.
