Hello everyone, I hope that I'm doing this right. I will admit, I'm still getting used to using this, so please be patient with me.

I was curious, for those who struggle with reading or writing here: do you have any tips? I feel like I'm slowly making progress, but it's frustrating when you can't read most of what you find in the library. I think I saw something about learning, but I may be mistaken.

Alternately, is there anyone who wants to put together small study groups for those of us who aren't as proficient with reading and writing in Japanese? Does something like that exist? If not, would anyone be interested?

And I certainly hope that you're speaking hypothetically about "taking them." You do realize that that would be stealing, don't you?

I hesitate more out of politeness and manners than anything else, please understand. And if you would be willing to share, I would be more than happy to offer something in return. I'm not sure what yet, but I imagine we can work out some sort of agreement.

My point is that stealing is against the law, whether or not anyone notices you doing it. You realize that you could be punished for something like that, whether or not you are a god, do you not? Not to mention that you are preventing an honest individual from purchasing that book. You are depriving the shopkeeper from the money that they would earn from that transaction. And you are setting a bad example for others!

I highly suggest that you return what you have taken immediately.

I don't see the point in getting torn up about it. I'm actually making use of the thing.

Kanji itself can be a little confusing, but what I would suggest is using a dictionary at best to help you.

It can be easy to miss things, given that a lot will happen off-network or a lot of posts will hit the BBS in a row.

Competition is alright sometimes, but I don't really see a point in it for fighting the ayakashi when we're just meant to be helping people. And we can't do it alone, either - I know that by experience, since I used to be a loner before getting put into a situation rather like this one. I realized I needed to build bonds with people, and *anybody* can become a friend or ally. Sometimes that's all they need to do the right thing. So I've decided to do the very same thing, here, to make sure that I don't forget that realization.

Anyroad, it's a bit tricky to learn so it isn't you. Took me prolly a good half year to get the fiddly bits down with the letters'n some of the simpler words but I'm sure you lot will have an easier time of it!

I have noticed this, yes! It looks like this the BBS can get pretty busy depending on what people are up to. It's interesting. I wish I had more time to go back and read what other people have written about.

I'm glad that you feel like you don't have to be alone anymore. Especially in a place like this, I feel like our bonds are the most important things that we have--both for shinki and for those summoned here as gods. I hope then that you and I can become friends as well, if I could be so bold.

Would a dictionary really be useful at this point, even before I've learned the basics? That almost seems like putting the horse before the cart.

There are basic characters that can help you. Though, if not dictionaries, then there are basic grammar books.
