From: Viktor
Viktor had made his way to one of the local indoor ice rinks, since he had skates. He had no idea why they were so fancy, but he'd shown up wearing them, and he felt more than a little stupid having no idea how to use them.
He still had no idea once he'd gotten there, though. The cool air was much nicer than the heat outside, but he had no jacket, and that was a mistake. Still, there wasn't a lot to do about it now. It wasn't as if he had any idea how to actually maneuver in the skates at all, but he figured he might as well see if he could...stand on them? Maybe?
Not yet, though. He was too taken by the idea of simply shooting them both across the (thankfully empty) ice. Just for the fun of it. Why not?
He turned the phone's camera on and focused it on the skate in his hand, humming a little to himself as he bent over the barrier to throw it somewhat underhandedly.
It didn't go far, and the edge on the toe caught pretty easily. But Viktor only laughed.
"Does anyone know how to do this? I'd try putting them on, but I don't really want to give myself a concussion!"
He probably would anyway. But. An Attempt Was Made to be safe, at least?
"Does anyone want to come join me? This rink is in the center of town and it's nice and cool in here! Bring a jacket, though, unless you like being cold."
Viktor didn't, but he hadn't been in here too long, so he just slid onto the ice and promptly lay down on it like some kind of weird starfish, his spare skate still in his hand and the other halfway across the ice. He didn't look too keen on retrieving it, either.

[He could be there in seconds to yell at him in person, but that's a few seconds too long because he needs to yell at him right now.]

Yep, he was grinning. It was probably hard to see with his face at this angle, though.
"But I'm afraid I'll injure myself if I try to put them on. That doesn't sound like fun."
no subject
no subject
Not that it really mattered much to him, when it came down to it. But this was a fairly interesting thing coming from his god.
" Don't worry, I won't break them. They obviously meant a lot to me, even if I don't remember why. I just wanted to see if I could send it in a straight line."
Because that made complete sense. And Viktor was an overgrown child, memories or no.
no subject
If it means a lot to you DON'T THROW IT AROUND!! Why is that so fucking hard to understand??
no subject
This was all said incredibly calmly, because yes, as extra as he could be even with amnesia he had given this a little thought. Not much, of course, but not nothing!
no subject
There's about to be blood because I'm about to come over there and kick your face in.
no subject
And that actually gave him pause, because he needed to think it over. He had a tendency to forget things quite a bit, he'd noticed, and if he'd promised his god something and then come here instead...well. That was more than enough reason to be mad. Maybe not this mad, but his god was a champion at it.
no subject
[Sort of.]
Put your skates on the right way. I'm coming over.
no subject
But he didn't sound too upset about it. Yuri could be a bit grumpy, and Viktor wasn't that concerned.
"Okay, okay. Are you going to give me a lesson? That'd be fun!"
no subject
[Yuri appears without much fanfare, leaning over the boards and glaring at Viktor.]
So stop messing around, already.
So he looks at this as a chance to practice.
But what is Viktor doing? Is the man drunk, or is this some quirky aspect of his personality, like his childish joy with the sparklers.
"Those are some very unusual boots. Are they weapons? They certainly look sharp."
no subject
He had to think about that for a minute. If he were to put the skates on and then kick someone with a lot of force...
"I'm pretty sure they're called ice skates! I remember watching people dance across the ice on them -"
But no, that felt like a bad thing to remember, although he had no idea why. Still, it didn't stop him from wanting to understand how they worked!
no subject
Wait, Viktor is prone on a sheet of ice? "Um, aren't you cold?"
no subject
But he didn't care. And he was cold. And rather uncomfortable.
"I am! I really should have brought a jacket."
Video
[He's laughing softly as the video feed starts, a small, distant spark of friendly affection in his eyes.]
I don't think throwing them is going to help anything.
It... could be fun to give it a try, maybe. I'd have to figure it out, too, but...
no subject
Because he definitely wasn't risking putting these things on and actually trying to move in them. He assumed he likely could, since he'd died with them on. On the other hand, that could mean he was awful at it, and the risk was just a little too much for him to be comfortable with.
But! It would be nice to have some company...
"We can race them, if you want to meet me here!"
no subject
[Hey, he's reasonably coordinated, he's sure he could figure this out.]
Where are you?
no subject
He was more excited about the whole thing than he probably should have been, but there were more important things to think about right now. Namely, the fact that he couldn't read the rink's name, since it was in kanji with nary a smidgen of English to be found.
"One second!"
Or a little more, since he had to figure out how to get off the ice without dying again and then make his way outside to pan the phone around the surroundings and the outside of the rink itself, including the sign.
no subject
[Yuuri's cheeks color faintly, and he fidgets awkwardly with his sleeve. Viktor's always so flirtatious... It's hard to get used to.]
[He grabs his phone and searches the name of the rink, then uses the map app to find the nearest shrine.]
Wait just a few minutes. It shouldn't take me too long to get there.
no subject
Letting things drop wasn't his strongest skill. In fact, he liked seeing Yuuri blush, it was incredibly cute.
"I look forward to it."
At least he thought he did. He was a little uneasy about it...although he didn't mind not being skilled at things (it was hard to mind that, given his situation!) he did want Yuuri to think well of him! The fact that they shared a god was enough to make him value his opinion, and. Well. He was really cute?
He had to wonder if he might have had even a little more chill when alive. It was doubtful, but one could always hope.
no subject
[It's mumbled, perhaps a little bit too low for Viktor to catch over the connection or perhaps not. It's baffling, honestly, and perhaps a little embarrassing... It feels, sometimes, like Viktor must be playing some sort of game, like he's got some sort of running joke with himself about pretending Yuuri's worth all the attention he pays to him. (He saw a taped production of A Midsummer Night's Dream online the other day, and he's struck for a moment by the thought of the fairy queen, bewitched into falling for a common human transfigured into a beast, only to forget him when the spell wore off. He shakes the thought away, though, and smiles.)]
See you soon!
[He waves goodbye, cuts off the phone, and makes his way over to the rink.]
[True to his word, it doesn't take him long to get there. Most of the wait is just the time it takes him to get the staff's attention long enough to rent a pair of skates before he seeks out Viktor at the side of the ice.]
Sorry to keep you waiting!
no subject
It most certainly wasn't a game, and he'd have been hurt to hear that suggestion. He liked Yuuri. Sharing a temple and a god with him had given him the opportunity to be in his presence quite a bit, and the little quirks of his personality only made Viktor want to know him better. And he was very attractive! So many here were, really.
But there wasn't time to focus on things like that now! Instead, he said a quick goodbye and made for one of the benches to try to follow his god's advice and tie the skates properly. Surprisingly, it wasn't as hard to walk on them as he'd been expecting, but he really needed to go find some guards. There hadn't been any on them when he'd woken up here, and he'd been avoiding the rink floor as much as possible to prevent as much damage as he could.
He waved happily when Yuuri walked in, moving down on the bench to give him some room.
"Nothing to be sorry for! I like just being here. It feels nice."
Not familiar, exactly, but somehow comforting all the same. The cool air coming off the ice felt wonderful and its crispness made him feel alert and alive. Or perhaps that was influenced by the company...
"I'm not sure I won't fall on my face, but shall we give it a try?" he asked when Yuuri had laced up his borrowed skates, extending his hand to help him off the bench.

He had to smile, though, because the idea of meeting up with her made him happy.
"I'll try my best not to hurt myself too much! Enjoy your party!"
Re: Video
Oh geez, don't say things like that, you'll make me blush! I'm not super good at anything so far except making friends and giving hugs to the kids younger than me around here. There's two of them that I know of. How often are you planning on going skating?
no subject
But he shook his head at her question, having utterly no idea.
"I wish I could tell you! It doesn't feel completely alien to me, but then again I have no idea if I've actually used them much. It seems like something I could like, though, so probably pretty often if that turns out to be the case!"
no subject
no subject
He grinned at the request, happy to have possibly made a friend!
"I will! I'm not sure it'll be on any sort of schedule but I do like it here and would like to come back!"
no subject
no subject
Yep. He had no real idea, but then, he rarely did.
no subject
Sorry, Viktor. Chikusa is a blunt soul.
no subject
No worries, Chikusa. Viktor wasn't at all offended, he just wanted someone to come hang out with him.
no subject
His head tilts slightly to the side. Chikusa and fun have always been at a bit of a distance to start with, and this just seems like it's on another country as far as his line of thinking goes.
no subject
Yep. Hopeful puppy, right here.

"What would we learn from throwing skates across an ice rink...?"
from: carl adler (video)
[ Just a suggestion. ]
That looks like fun though!
no subject
He felt like he should probably know this, but...it did sound sensible!
"It is! I like it in here. You want to come try it?"
no subject
[ Though they’re dead so maybe that doesn’t matter. ]
Nice place to be for you then? Yeah sure, if you don’t mind my company.
no subject
And something he might need, come to think of it. Even dead people could hit their heads!
"Not at all! I'm just goofing around anyway, it's always more fun to do that with company!"
no subject
[ They can probably get concussions from it, at least. That would be no fun. ]
Oh! Yeah, it is! No idea if I know how to skate though, but even so it'd be fun.
[ So he'll go! He needs something to take his mind off of the nightmare he shared with some people at the sleepover last night, anyway. ]
no subject
He might, if he didn't forget about it. He'd noticed a tendency to do that...
"I'm not sure I do either, but I had these on me when I got here, so I might! If you want to, I could use the company."
Viktor hadn't gone to the sleepover, but from what he'd heard, it had been tather interesting. He was more than capable of distracting people, though!
no subject
[ D2 starts to head out, wondering if he should write a note to the god he’s temporarily staying with but he supposes that if she wants something, then she would call him. He’d just have to keep his phone close. ]
And I don’t really have anything to do right now so I’ll come hang out. I’m D2, by the way.
[ Even though the username registered for him to the BBS is clearly “Carl Adler”. ]
no subject
And he almost scurried to get out there and focus on it, so excited to have the possibility of company that he almost forgot to take the skate off first.
"I'm Viktor, but I suppose you already knew that. The rink is open, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding me! I'm just hanging out by the benches on the main rink."
And who was he to question what someone wanted to be called? The guy had introduced himself as D2, and D2 he would be called.
no subject
[ D2 on the other hand can read Japanese without a single problem, though he thinks and speaks in English if he doesn't purposefully use another language. So he memorizes the name as he walks through the temple grounds to make his way over. ]
I think I'll manage to find it, that's the first hurdle right?
