Heaven's BBS | Video
Posted: June 21st
From: Eros
[There's a dull clicking sound in the background when the feed starts but judging by the odd lower angle and blurred image it seems this wasn't supposed to start in the first place. Upon closer inspection, and with a bit of shifting, the video focuses and reveals what definitely looks to be a young man's bare back facing the camera. He's laying down on his side in the grass, currently unmoving, but when the clicking sound starts up again he finally shifts to lazily roll over and face the feed with tired, half-lidded eyes.
No, he isn't wearing a shirt. Too hot for that. And even if it wasn't, he'd probably feel too unenergetic to put one on anyway.]
Oi... Put that away. It's too hot for this.
[said as he lifts his hand up, considers reaching over... and chooses instead to drop it atop his forehead which is currently dappled with sweat. He could go for a swim. He could grab a drink, take a cold shower. He could. But he won't.
Whoever's on the other side of the screen makes a noncommittal, almost animal like growl... before finally obliging and dropping the device in the grass so it can eventually pad over and flop down beside Rin in the afternoon shade. Is that... an ayakashi? Seems somewhat tame for one, though there's no mistaking it's features. Bear. Small. Cuddly. Definitely ayakashi. Regardless, Rin doesn't seem pressed to move much, and with a lazy, cat-like stretch he rolls his shoulders before absently wiping more sweat away from his neck and chiseled stomach with the backs of his fingertips.
Well. There's Eros in the flesh for you.]
Tsk... stupid bear. Now I can't sleep.
(( ooc: Rin ran into a bear cub ayakashi and it's made him uncharacteristically tired, lazy, and all around listless! Please help... or take the opportunity to admire. Your choice bro. ))

prowlsthe surrounding grove of sakura trees. If he had intended to retort to that lip, it’s halted when he sees his god wince as that… thing snuggles close—It’s snuggling?!
That little piece of- Now he’s really moving, for two very different but related reasons as he scans around the green grass and pink petals, trying to locate his irritably-lethargic god. Rin has to be lounging around somewhere out here… Dammit, why does this place have to be so big right now? And why can’t shinki track their gods?]
Shut up. I’m just as active as you when I want to be.
[So there. It’s not his issue that Sousuke’s a lot calmer than a certain hothead ball of energy. And he’s definitely never been as bad as Rin’s acting right now. Wait-
PUNT!
Yes, he did just kick a baby bear. Like it was a football. Sent it clear out the tops of the trees around them.]
Get off him.
no subject
[He's clearly lying. Either way, he's getting under his shinki's skin with it and he couldn't care less, at least not right this second. Maybe he'll deal with it later. Or tomorrow. Or never.
Finally, it seems the patch of grass he's lying across is comfortable enough to sleep on, so he doesn't say anything for the next couple minutes of Sousuke's search. Ah, yes. Sweet sleep. He can feel it now, slowly dragging him down into quiet, peaceful--
SHRIEK
Startled, Rin shoots his eyes open, but the heaviness in his body keeps him practically fused to the ground. Ugh, what now? He was just getting to the best part of falling asleep! With a groan, he buries his face halfway in the grass, at least until he recognizes his shinki's voice and somehow manages to peek up and squint towards the tops of the trees. Huh. Sure are a lot of petals and leaves falling because of something... Tsk. Now they're getting in his hair.
He's lazily trying to peel them off when he flops onto his back halfway through.]
Oyyy. Who are you talking to?
no subject
That kick felt good though. He knows the other boy’s acting this way because of that ayakashi. And while he wants to say he kicked the thing to the moon because he wants to protect his god from harm… ugh, the stupid thing’d been snuggling with Rin. And for whatever reason, that pissed the taller boy off more than the former.
Now, the main question is wondering if the ayakashi’s going to come back. It’s quiet enough that after a few decent seconds, there’s a soft ‘thump’ somewhere out in the groove. He Sousuke highly doubts he managed to field goal it over the huge fence surrounding Rin’s temple. Not that he wouldn’t mind a second attempt…
Sousuke glances down at his god, noting his eyes finally opened. Hn, well nice to see him actually looking awake for a second, rather than lounging like some lazy stupor. Thought he’s… still lying there. Maybe just getting that bear thing away from him isn’t enough. That attempt to clean off the petals earns a wry look.]
A pain in the ass. Now get up. You’re acting a little pathetic.
[And leans down, bending at the waist, before poking his god in the side. Once. Twice. Continually. He isn't going to kick him awake. Poking and tickling though... That works.]
no subject
As soon as he realizes it, Rin opens his eyes a little wider while turning to look at the spot of grass beside him. Oh. It's... not there anymore. And that heavy feeling in his chest seems to finally be subsiding too. He lightly presses his fingers to his sternum to make sure he even has a pulse before turning back to his shinki towering above him in the afternoon sun.
... poking him in the afternoon sun.]
Hey, quit that!
[he sputters, twitching away so he can roll over onto his knees with noticeably more speed and vigor than before. He's trying to get some feeling back into his jelly legs when he finally asks,]
Ah-- What happened to the ayakashi?
[And his shirt, but, you know. Priorities.]
no subject
And yes, he’s proud of that kick, thank you. Maybe he played soccer in his past life.]
I got rid of it.
[Sousuke straightens up, glad his poking and prodding have kickstarted some energy back into his god. Seeing those eyes wider and more alert and seeing him move with more activity than a slug is promising. But it does make him wonder if any other lingering things are still affecting Rin. So he keeps an eye on him, ready in case something goes wrong.]
Welcome back to the land of the living.
[And offers his hand down to Rin to help him stand up. When he’s good and ready, of course.]
no subject
It might come back.
[And if that's the case, then he doesn't want to stick around. So he brushes some grass from his pants, takes a step forward--
--and promptly faceplants into Sousuke's chest when his knee locks up and fails completely.]
Oof!
no subject
He pulls back, bracing one leg, as Rin helps himself up via his arm.]
Then I’ll kick it harder.
[Simple plan, right?]
Ngh!
[And grunts when the other boy practically smashes face-first into his chest. He catches Rin before he can fall though, strong hands holding onto one shoulder and under his arm.]
Oy. You okay?
no subject
[Though with how drained he feels right now, he's not so sure his body would be up to the task. In any case, he's back up on his feet... or at least he was before something or rather cursed his legs.
With Sousuke's help again though, he stabilizes easily enough and peels his face away with a disgruntled moan. Why does he feel so tired?]
I'm fine.
[he mutters, running a hand down his face. Ah yes. The picturesque and ever-attractive God of Love himself.]
We should... go inside. That thing might be looking to exact revenge on you for kicking its ass.
no subject
[He knows he can’t kill it on his own; he has to have his god wield him for that purpose. But if it comes down to Rin’s safety, Sousuke swears he’ll do anything that’s required to protect him. Even surmount his own limitations if that’s what it takes.
Keeping his hands on Rin, the shinki eyes his god with a mixture of concern and some wryness. He’s pretty sure the presence of that ayakashi is the cause of Rin’s weariness, but it doesn’t completely excuse the other boy of being a jerk. (Or Sousuke simply feels like rubbing it in some more.)]
You don’t look fine.
[State-wise. Physically, he’s fine enough. Mr. God of Love. Sousuke nods at the recommendation and heads for the castle, supporting Rin with one arm around his shoulders and back for now. He’ll carry him if he needs to.]
Hn, it’s funeral.
no subject
[His hero. If Rin knew all of that, he'd probably kick him in the ankle... then feel warm inside because Sousuke's actually taking this whole "protect your god" thing seriously. Come on, man. He already told you countless times it's not a big deal... They're a team, ok?
Which is why he's not going to protest right now while Sousuke wraps his arm around him for support. He will, however, toss a very displeased glare his way for that comment.]
I'm fine enough.
[Saying that though, he goes ahead and leans a bit as he walks. No carrying. He's not a sack of potatoes... but he is grateful.]
... Thanks by the way. For finding me.
no subject
[Both a taunt and a sincere question. He’s still keeping an eye on him as they walk, just in case Rin’s legs give out or something. And yes, he knows they’re a team, but right now, one half of the team looks and acts like he’s been in hibernation for the past six months. Sousuke’s got to make up the difference, right?
The glare shot his way earns a bare shrug, eyes closed as it rolls right off.]
Sure.
[He’ll admit you’re more awake and less slovenly jerkish than you were a few moments ago. Still doesn’t equal “fine” but whatever. As Rin leans on him to walk, Sousuke keeps their steps limited so he’s not dragging him or requiring Rin to match his strides.]
Aa. Couldn’t let you keep making a fool of yourself all over the network.
no subject
[He's about to knee him for that and he's got his leg bent and at the ready already! ... but ok. Chill. Relax. He's doing him a very nice favor here. He shouldn't beat him up for tha--
--ok, that's it!
A fool of himself, huh? He'll show him what a fool looks like.
With little warning, Rin scurries over, bends his knees, and with one big leap at his shinki aims to koala cling himself onto his back. Come on! He offered, didn't he? MUSH.]
no subject
But it’s the truth though! Sousuke hadn’t even bothered to go look for Rin until someone contacted him concerned about Rin’s behavior. What was he supposed to do, wave it off and go back to bed? A certain god should be thankful--]
Huh? Wha--?! Oy! Rin-ngh! Mph!
[All the sounds of someone getting yanked at, pulled on, tugged away from, and abruptly loaded up on the back like he’s some pack mule! Sousuke jerks his head to the side, glaring over his shoulder as best he can.]
Seriously?
[Nevermind his hands reaching back to instinctively clap around Rin’s legs to make sure he doesn’t fall.]
no subject
They wobble to and fro and for a second he's worried they'll both go toppling over into the grass, but he uses his legs as counterweight, kicking them in the opposite directions Sousuke sways, and soon hooks his arms around his shoulders with a grunt.]
You're the one who offered! So I'm dead serious.
[MUSH]
no subject
not snuggling with a bear cubsafe from any ayakashi machinations. Sousuke’s glare remains, but he knows inside he’s already resigned to do this.Ugh. What a pain…
With a muted sigh, he balances himself, unwilling to go crashing into the ground. But their bodies seem to work in tandem, Rin’s legs countering Sousuke’s tilting and his arms keeping those legs in a good place. And finally arms around his shoulders, a voice in his ear… Hook line and sinker.]
You whip me and I’ll throw you into the fountain.
[Not that getting wet’s much a punishment for either of them… But he dutifully hikes Rin up a little on his back for comfort and then heads off at an easier pace. It’s not bad and he takes his time, walking through the sakura grove with his god on his back.]
I’m glad you’re okay though…
no subject
Jealous he's not snuggling with you?Well, he's certainly snuggling now, isn't he? ... Ok, maybe not snuggling, but he's holding on and he's not letting go until he wants to (or Sousuke tries to dump him), so there. This might be the closest to snuggling he's going to get.]
You throw me into the fountain and I'll leave my wet clothes on your bed.
[Well, at a comfortable pace they go, marching steadily on up the grassy lawn and towards the castle doors. The sakuras finally seem to be responsive this afternoon, fluttering and swaying as normal trees should do rather than remaining stagnant in a summer's breeze. He's staring up at them when Sousuke speaks again and with a few curious blinks he tips his head down to stare at the top of Sousuke's own.
Glad he's ok... Without realizing it, his hold tightens. Just a touch. Quietly,]
I'm glad you found me.
no subject
Where do you even get that idea? And this is completely different than snuggling; this is a piggyback ride and it’s perfectly fine. Sousuke looks up to the trees above them and watches the petals drifting down through the air. All the awkward and danger aside, it is nice to be out here with Rin.]Hn, I’ll wring them out on yours.
[Said with a little sly-eyed smirk towards his shoulder. And back to the trees. While he could have gone straight for the door, Sousuke finds himself quietly wandering off course. Green grass, the dark trunks of the sakura, the pink petals in the fresh air, all of it looking livelier than it had been a few moments ago. The tighter hold isn’t missed and he blows a sakura petal away with a puff of air. You know, before it settles on his face or something.]
I’m glad you weren’t eaten.
[There may have been just a tiny bit of emphasis on the “I’m” right there… but who knows.]
no subject
[That smirk. He should pinch it right off his face. He's just started considering it when he notices Sousuke's wandering off course.]
Oy, where are you going? The door's that way.
[If he wants him to remain uneaten then what the hell's he still walking around here for? Well... there's no denying the scenery is nice and compared to some of the fighting and rigorous training they've been up to these past couple days, a leisurely stroll--piggyback ride--is a welcome change of pace. But seriously...]
no subject
[That’s what he’s going to say about the door. It’s over there and they’ll get to it eventually, but for right now, isn’t it nice to wander around and linger outside? Normally they’re going somewhere or training outside. A bit of a rarity to just walk through the sakura grove. Come to think of that though…]
Do you know if gods can… arrange their temples?
[He releases one of Rin’s legs just long enough to gesture to the side, indicating a wide swath of grass among the sakura.]
You could put a pool there.
[While he does like their pools in the gym, it’s always nagged him that the pools are underground. No windows to see outside or let in the light. No way to backstroke and look up at the sky.]
no subject
[He turns to look off the side where Sousuke directs him. There's definitely a lot of space on these grounds to put countless things if he wanted, but to be honest he's never thought about the idea. Can he do something like that?]
I don't know.
[The pool he does have here serves its purpose after all. But Sousuke's right. It feels artificial being down there.]
... Do you want a pool over there?
no subject
He tucks his arm back under Rin’s leg and starts walking again.]
I don’t know. Maybe. I like our pools, but they’re kind of dark. You can’t see outside at all.
no subject
Yeah. There's light down there, but no daylight.
[He sighs softly before resting his chin on Sousuke's head again. Cozy.]
I'll try. It has to be doable somehow, don't you think?
That way you can see the sky when you swim.
no subject
Aa. It’s all electric.
[Which is nice and pretty, of course, but… like right now, out here in the sun and warm air, wouldn’t it be nice to go swimming under this sky?
… oy. Chin on his head. Don’t think he doesn’t notice that. Sousuke rolls his eyes, but decides Rin can enjoy that rarity for the time being.]
Can’t say. We might have to start digging or something.
[A little smirk at the softer words.]
Oy, you want to do the same. Plus sakura petals in the pool, you romantic.
no subject
Rin hums thoughtfully (and, no, he doesn't move his chin from its new perch, thank you) before turning to gaze out over the gardens again. It'd be a lot of work to do it themselves... and they're hardly qualified for that sort of thing. Still, swimming in the sun with all these beautiful trees--]
Oy.
[He nudges him in the side for that with his foot, but then, quietly, maybe a little dreamily,]
... I guess I have always wanted to swim in a sakura pool.
no subject
Since that chin’s not moving, he does his best not to move his head too much, not wanting to tug his hair or buck Rin’s jaw or something like that. Sousuke passed by the front door and heads for the other side of the grounds, lazily sweeping his foot through a pile of sakura petals. Building a pool’s out of the question, even if he does want to entertain the idea.]
Hn. [A soft smile at the nudge and response. Thought so.] Just like a romantic swimming maniac would say.
