Many Questions To Be Had
Who: Xehanort, Open
What: bothering people, and other things
When: June 13thish to maybe the 20th or so
Where:Other temples, his own after dark.
Warnings: None so far.
A
[Although it would be best if he saw to some of his prayers, instead Xehanort has picked up his notebook, a bit of tape and phone, shifted to the jackal-headed form most associate with the god Anubis, and gone looking for other temples nearby. He could have stayed in human form, but if he's intending to speak to gods and shinki both, isn't it best to be easily identified?
Once a temple is found, however, it's just a matter of looking for a door to knock on or a proper place to call out a greeting .. or even approach someone who happens to be standing outside.
He's really not that picky. God, shinki, it's all the same.]

[So someone wasn't home when Xehanort ventured to visit their temple. That's alright, there are a million things to do in a day. But at any temple that seemed occupied but nobody home, he's left a note.]
Greetings. I am Anubis; I visited your temple today but nobody was home.
I'd like to ask some questions about your experiences here (God or Shinki!), but since it seems I've missed you, perhaps you'd like to visit me instead, or leave me a message? I should be back at my own temple after sunset, but I can also be reached at [number] easily.
Thank you for your time.
[Visiting Anubis' temple, on the other hand, is visiting a desert. It's dry, even with the bits of oasis-like pools here and there, but it's not completely uninviting.. if it's after sunset he'll be there.]

Oh! Xehanort. Yes, of course. Please, come inside.

[Or at least not too obtrusive, but he really did need to get as much information as he could from as great a variety as possible!]
It was suggested to me that a guidebook of sorts for new arrivals might be a good idea, and given your earlier words of the difficulty shinki have ... well, I've set out to do just that. But it requires a lot of external opinions.

[Forrest really doesn't mind company.]
That does sound like a good idea. I'll help as much as I can. What is it you'd like to know?

..I think the garden might be nice, and enjoy pleasant weather while it lasts.
[Besides, who didn't like gardens?]
The things you had the most trouble with upon arriving here, mostly. What you wanted to know the most, but couldn't find easily about. For obvious reasons there are .. some things I won't be able to put into such a booklet that would be widely available, but the things that can be..
[No discussing shinki memory loss and why they must not be told about any of it, of course. He'd been thoroughly warned about that.]

[Forrest leads Xehanort around to the back of the temple, through a small wooden gate and into a lush garden full of greenery. There are several clear pools with lotus flowers floating in them, and large stones sitting between them. He smiles and gestures to a wooden bench just outside the back entrance to the temple.]
Well... I suppose the main thing would be how to go about fighting ayakashi. I was told the very basics - how to name a shinki, how to call them to fight together, how to rend... but other than that, we're largely left to figure it out on our own.

But there is a bench, and he takes that instead.]
How much detail on the ayakashi do you think is safe to provide? I don't wish to hedge into potentially dangerous territory, though I agree more information, and possibly even a trapped ayakashi or two to show to newcomers so they know what to look for, might be a very good idea..

There are so many different types of ayakashi that I feel like it would be difficult to provide specific information on how to fight them. I'm not sure how I feel about keeping them trapped, either. If they were to break loose, that could be a big problem.

[THOSE ones surely could be contained safely.]
They must be neutralized in one form or another. I am unsure how one might keep even a small one contained though, I have yet to attempt it.

I suppose it would be possible to simply catch a few little ones to see and practice upon, though it would mean some temporary poisoning of the one doing the catching.
[He sounds as if he knows from experience.]
Perhaps the shinki who have been here longer than the oldest of the 'new' gods would know ways, or something in the libraries, but I'm.. not precisely sure I'll have the time to search both venues.

[Forrest frowns, thinking.]
It couldn't hurt to ask. I know there are a few shinki that were here before any of us were.
no subject
[Of course it hadn't gone too well for the thing he'd caught, and then he'd had to release it later as otherwise would require his shinki's help..]
Oh? Could you tell me their names or how to contact them? It's certainly worth a try if nothing else.

[Not everyone was happy to have a stranger turn up and start asking questions, after all.]

[Bishamon. Hadn't there been an open invite going out for training there? As good a reason as any to stop by and make with the pleasantries, he supposed.
There's a pause, and canine features pull into a frown.]
Did you know they hadn't been telling all of us to avoid speaking to our shinki on certain subjects? How do I even put that in a guidebook without causing problems for those same shinki?

Nothing would prevent a shinki from simply picking up their god's book at some point. And if there's already been incidents of gods telling a shinki their past, then certainly someone will slip up about a book sooner or later. I don't want that on me for writing it.

I mislike having to refer someone to another god for answers, as that's the entire point of writing such a guide, but it may be in this case there's no choice. Risking the wrong person reading the wrong information is not worth what's gained by everyone else.
