Many Questions To Be Had
Who: Xehanort, Open
What: bothering people, and other things
When: June 13thish to maybe the 20th or so
Where:Other temples, his own after dark.
Warnings: None so far.
A
[Although it would be best if he saw to some of his prayers, instead Xehanort has picked up his notebook, a bit of tape and phone, shifted to the jackal-headed form most associate with the god Anubis, and gone looking for other temples nearby. He could have stayed in human form, but if he's intending to speak to gods and shinki both, isn't it best to be easily identified?
Once a temple is found, however, it's just a matter of looking for a door to knock on or a proper place to call out a greeting .. or even approach someone who happens to be standing outside.
He's really not that picky. God, shinki, it's all the same.]
B
[So someone wasn't home when Xehanort ventured to visit their temple. That's alright, there are a million things to do in a day. But at any temple that seemed occupied but nobody home, he's left a note.]
Greetings. I am Anubis; I visited your temple today but nobody was home.
I'd like to ask some questions about your experiences here (God or Shinki!), but since it seems I've missed you, perhaps you'd like to visit me instead, or leave me a message? I should be back at my own temple after sunset, but I can also be reached at [number] easily.
Thank you for your time.
[Visiting Anubis' temple, on the other hand, is visiting a desert. It's dry, even with the bits of oasis-like pools here and there, but it's not completely uninviting.. if it's after sunset he'll be there.]

[He's never seen a new god looking like that, after all. Maybe he's from some other world, but he LOOKS like Anubis does in the books Axel's been perusing when he can find them. He could be the actual Anubis, which means...
Well, that he can't be trusted. It's nothing personal. Axel doesn't really trust any of the old gods, simply because they don't trust him or any of the new gods. The only exception might be Amaterasu. He's never met her but she seems pretty chill.]
We haven't done anything wrong.
[That's his first thought, that this is some kind of interrogation.]

No sign of frogs though..]
No. I've been here a little under a week, this is merely the ... power I was given, such as it is, in order to do my job.
[It has benefits, really. And in a way it did feel appropriate to have a jackal's head and a pelt when roaming around claiming to be the god that had both as well.
Those oversized ears perk back up at the denial of wrongdoing. Guilty conscience, perhaps? Or a troublemaker?]
If you have done something wrong, it's not my jurisdiction until someone's dead and their soul needs judging. [Which isn't precisely true, that didn't seem to actually be Anubis' job at all but who else would know that?] My questions are more ... about experiences when you first arrived than anything going on now.
[Simple ones, straightforward ones. So he can put his name on the paper and know every single person who reads it has to be referencing his work.]

[There's something about his voice... oh well, he's probably just heard him at the party or something.
Axel holds the door open and moves out of the way. The hallway it opens into is longer than the building is deep.]
There's a parlor-type room, first door on your left.
[And the couch in it has tuna cans hidden within. Thanks, Chikusa.]

[It seemed nobody at all had very good opinions on the old gods. It fit with what seemed to be general ineptitude in what little he had heard. Maybe whoever was trying to overthrow Amaterasu had very good reasons for it.
Xehanort nods slightly, and does as bidden - that the building on the outside doesn't seem large enough to accommodate this on the inside takes a moment, and when it registers he actually stops and glances back the way he'd come from, then further in again.
He doesn't ask, but it's probably obvious he's very, very tempted to. Especially by the way when he reaches the parlor, this is ALSO weighed in size versus the exterior.]
You don't seem to be very friendly to the native gods. Are they troublesome?
[Both of them, in fact, didn't .. but he wasn't sure with Chikusa it was actual dislike or if his median was a resting dislike face.]
no subject
[At the question, his head slowly tilts to the side.]
They’re annoying…
[And also he is mildly paranoid and thinks they’re responsible for who knows what, but, he doesn’t say that. At least, not yet.]
no subject
[Axel continues where Chikusa left off. He knows a little bit about death among the gods from the book he found. He knows that it should be at least somewhat rare. And yet there are so many vacancies... Something's definitely up. Maybe something that the gods blame the newcomers for, in part, if they don't understand it either.]
I can't really blame them for that, but it's a pain to live with.
no subject
... Not especially, save that he was willing to ask around for things.]
I heard rumor that there might be something of a rebellion going on amongst the old gods against one named Amaterasu, anything related to that?
[There's nothing in his tone that even remotely suggests he thinks THESE TWO are involved, and he doesn't. But maybe they heard something or saw something that could add to the mystery.
It's not going in his book though.]
no subject
I wouldn’t be surprised…
[But other than that, he doesn’t really know anything about that.]
Who said the rumor?
no subject
... Why are you telling us this?
no subject
[There's probably more than cookery involved but frankly, that's what stuck in his mind as it was the only nonsweet thing he was able to easily locate. As he settles on a seat it .. feels like something's under the cushion and sort of uncomfortable.
A bit of fishing around covertly brings up a .. can of tuna?]
Because I am asking many questions myself. It is reasonable to offer information in return, especially if it seems relevant to your interests. As you distrust them, something that may be interfering with them might be interesting.
[As far as he felt it was very straightforward. Give and take.]
no subject
[...and puts the can in the cushions of another seat.]
[He says nothing this entire time.]
no subject
... I guess. You can ask your questions, then.
[This whole situation is just weird. Axel takes a seat on a perpendicular couch, pulling a packet of rice crackers out from under the cushions and sticking them in a potted plant before he continues.]
We'll try to answer them, within reason.
no subject
No question is forthcoming immediately, while he struggles to come to grips with what seems to be a pair of humanoid packrats.]
... Though this isn't why I came here, do ...
[one hand rises as if to point, but the gesture is aborted and he sets it back down.]
... Do you have enough food? If you need assistance, I can probably find enough so you don't have to, ah.
[Hide it everywhere like they were expecting it all to be stolen suddenly??]
no subject
[Xehanort may have difficulty believing it, and it is highly debatable if Chikusa is actually fine at any given moment, but. Well. It's what he says as he shuffles to stand by Axel, not bothering to sit down.]
no subject
[Why would you come to visit just to ask that.]
We've got plenty of food. ... Are you hungry or something?
no subject
How to pull it off without being obvious though?]
..No, as I just said. But this sort of beha... well, nevermind.
[They were clearly not fine. Xehanort wasn't particularly altruistic, but letting people just starve was a little beyond even him.]
Mostly I'm collecting notes on the sorts of things others had trouble with or difficulty finding out about upon their arrival. We're told some things, but a lot seems to get left out, so I'm working on a bit of a guide for new arrivals like myself.
[Maybe he could pay someone else to bring donations and just call it offerings?]
no subject
....Anything that's learned... is learned by talking to other shinki, or gods. If you don't talk to the right person, or ask the right questions...
[His gaze turns a little darker, although he doesn't stop watching Xehanort.]
...People have died because of it. It's.... annoying.

Axel folds his hands thoughtfully, resting his chin on them and his elbows on his knees. Then he kicks back, resting one foot on a knee and leaning back slightly, and presses his hand to his face.]
I've got a bit of a reputation around here. It's a long story, but needless to say I'm not the most trusted guy. I know how to turn Chikusa into his weapon form and fight ayakashi and use my power, but... that's about it. Is there more that gods can do?
no subject
[Among other things, but he'll focus on what he has. It seems these two echoed his own experiences pretty well; things just aren't being explained that should be. He would have to find out at least if Axel was told to never discuss a shinki's past.]
If it upsets the old gods, or they refuse to disseminate the information.. I'll just find a way to do it myself.
[He hadn't heard yet of Axel's reputation but he hadn't been there long either.
Very pointedly, he's not going to ask. If he didn't like being threatened or harassed at random, why would anyone else?]
... You can teleport. Did they mention that?
