hey im new and kinda wondering some stuff and wanna see if anyone can help.

do gods get paid for the stuff we do?
and does my fridge refill automatically or am i screwed here?

[ Other expenses? ] Genos if you tell me we gotta pay rent for this huge place I'm gonna lose it.

[ Genos shakes his head ] No I meant, other expenses like transit on the Near Shore, or paid card with internet for the cellphone.

[onepunching]

... [ He feels for the cellphone in his pocket and pulls it out. ] That sounds really annoying. Do I need that stuff too?

The living don't really notice us. So I guess we could just take what we want.

[ pause ]

But that still would count as theft. [ and he's not really comfortable with that idea ]

Yeah. I'm not a thief. [ It probably seems like an obvious fact, but he remembers that Genos barely knows him at this point. ]

I guess I'll figure out some way to get money if I need it. I've done odd jobs before... [ He says it like its the end of the world. ]

You did? Then could I ask for an advice?

Sure... I guess I could help. Go for it. [ He hasn't exactly kept most of those odd jobs, but he's curious about what Genos wants to know. ]

What kind of job you'd recommend for someone like me?

[ aka amnesiac cyborg, with little to none skills, beside fighting, cleaning, cooking and being rude to strangers ]

Someone like you? [ Maid? Line cook? Construction worker? ]

Hm... convenience stores are always hiring, but you gotta be peppy for that. [ Maybe that would work if Saitama was the one and only customer there. ]

We could always check out a newspaper and see if anything there speaks to ya?

I'll try to get my hands on newspaper then.

I was considering a security guard job, with night shift preferred. But I'm still unsure how my status as a shinki would affect such duty.

Huh. I mean you'd be one hell of a security guard, but don't you need special training for that or something?

I wouldn't mind holding off on a prayer or something if you had work, but it might get kinda annoying. That's with any job though.

[ yeah, that's why he wanted a night-shift. So it wouldn't be a problem with prayer duties ]

Training? That's true [ he taps his chin thoughtfully ] I wasn't aware of that.

The biggest problem to overcome is that people don't notice us. So any job depending on a lot of human interaction is going to be frustrating.

I used to stock shelves at a grocery store before. You could always do somethin' like that at any kind of store. You don't really have to talk to anyone.

[ And you get a discount if you work at the grocery store... ]

This is a valuable insight. [ He notes it down quickly, carrying that notebook around always ] I'll keep that in mind.

It's pretty easy work. Just really boring.

[ He shrugs and goes to leave the kitchen when his stomach lets out a loud growl. ] Crap. We should probably head to the grocery store or somethin'...

[ Saitama is morose at the idea of having to go through the trouble of going to the near shore and finding a store, spending their money, heading home, and only then being able to start on something.

He walks over to the fridge to double check on what they already have, so they don't accidentally buy doubles. He opens the fridge and is frozen in place at what he sees. He closes the fridge and opens it again only to find the same sight. He rubs his eyes and looks again. It's real. The fridge is filled to the brim of various foods both completed meals or ingredients. He can barely believe his own eyes. So he doesn't. ]

Genos... come look at this.

[ Genos leans to check the fridge, as he was told to and... ]

How is that possible? [ he's equally taken aback, and he does the closing and opening the fridge again. Then he looks at Saitama, or rather god Radegast right next to him and a realization dawns at him. ]

Just moments ago, you got hungry, yes? [ The stomach growl was a dead giveaway ] This is your house. Perhaps it responds to your needs.

Yea my stomach growled so-- ah! You really think so?!

[ Saitama has no idea whether or not this was true, but the idea holds up somewhat. He was hungry and wanted food, and now he has it. Sounds simple enough for a god to accomplish. ]

Stand back, Genos... I'm gonna try something. [ Saitama closes his eyes and focuses. He imagines what he's been hoping for and missing this whole time. ]

[ Saitama is silent for several moments and opens his eyes to see if his attempt worked.

The disappointment is clear on his face. ]

Aw crap. I guess you can't wish for manga or video games.

Perhaps it only responds to actual needs, as opposed to whims?

[ Yeah Genos notes that down too, it's important experiment telling them how the hell this house works ]

Maybe try wishing for something else that is either more of a necessity... or is simply more specific.

[onepunching]

[ Are you saying entertainment isn't an actual need?! ]

Uh... a necessity... or specific...

[ He tries his best to imagine something but struggles with it. ] I can't think of anything. What do you want Genos? Maybe I can get somethin' for you.

[ Genos just shrugs. ] I don't any have wishes or desires. Unless getting my memories back, counts.

[ That's actually kind of boring. And sad. ]

Oh.

I don't think I can do that, but I wish I could.

[ Saitama had thought about Genos' memory situation before. Sometimes he considered that maybe it was better for Genos this way. He didn't have to have the weight of his family's tragedy on his shoulders. Although, Saitama knew that it was incredibly selfish to even consider that Genos would be better off forgetting. He was a little nervous about how Genos would react if he regained his memories and realized he had forgotten his family for so long.

Saitama also missed having his old friend around. ]

Let's just forget about this for now. What matters is that we have food now.

No, it's okay. I know you can't [ If he could there would be more shinki with their memories back. And they are non-existent ] You already done much for me, I appreciate it.

[ he takes a look into the fridge aaand ]

It still lacks soy sauce. [ That's like a most basic ingredient. How there can not be a soy sauce ]

Ah! No way! [ He looks into the fridge and moves some bottles and containers around. No soy sauce to be found. ]

Hah... you weren't kidding. Guess we have to go shopping anyways.
