Hazel, my name is Lara and I'm twenty four. I don't think that makes me old, but sometimes I feel it. I keep being told I have an old soul.

But I like that.

Hello Lara. You have a pretty name! It reminds me of my granny. Maybe your soul would remind me of her too ha ha.

I'm almost six and that's okay but sometimes people talk to me like I'm a baby and I don't understand lots of things so that sucks.

Well thank you, Hazel.

I don't think you're a baby. You're six, after all. I imagine you've started school, right?

Yup! I had a really good teacher too. But now I'm not in school anymore because I don't think there is one where we're staying.

That's back home I mean. I'm not in school either but someone said I could go to one if I wanted to. I don't know yet.

Well, I'd say yes. School's one of the most important things you can do.

Of course, that may be the 'old lady' in me talking.

I liked school okay but not having so many rules is really fun too.

[adventurology]

Fair enough. Structure's not bad though.

Anyway! Let me turn that question around on you. Would you like to be an older person?

I think so! Maybe not parent old because I don't want kids or have to work but big enough people don't talk to me like I'm little all the time.

[adventurology]

Well you know the best way to get people to talk to you like a grown-up is to learn to be one, right? Age is just a number, but maturity is what really matters.

School will help you with that, give you the skills you need.

[anecdaughter]

I guess so.

Maybe I will go and see if I like it before choosing.
