Hey - so this temple.
[Doku has the camera aimed away from himself and it's a bit lopsided, but the place looks abandoned. It's not a very large temple, besides. He's at least learned that taking video means he doesn't have to text, so there's that.]
Any gods live here? Askin' 'cuz there's Soulless shinki around here and that seems like it. Just them.
[Apparently this is where Soulless shinki reside until they're assigned to a God.]

There's no hints to who the god might be that owns it...?

[Something to check out- is it just a place to go, or somewhere they’re ‘born’?]

[A talking two-tailed cat has invaded his life, he’s pretty sure there’s worse. Pessimism seems right. Although frankly... Chikusa isn't entirely sure if gods and shinki can be trusted either.]
no subject
[Doku hasn't heard about any... other sorts of beings. Maybe those little balls of light? Maybe the demon showed up?]
Unless you're talking about some kind of invading force up from the Near Shore, I thought Gods and Shinki were the only ones who lived here, full time.

[Another bit of silence.]
[Footsteps, then, and soon enough Chikusa is just holding a cat over the camera. The cat, notably annoyed and sulking, is twapping around what looks like a split tail.]
[....Also enjoy those cat balls, Doku, uh, sorry]

[Some people are so literal, huh.]
That's why I said lived up here, like in the temples.
[Doku you're not helping. Some people have flocks of birds and litters of puppies.]

[Yes, that is the cat talking. Yes, they are grumpy about still being held up.]
no subject
[That's the only logical conclusion he has around here.]
no subject
[The cat gives a kick, still not happy. It would bite, but that hasn’t affected Chikusa yet.]
SOMEone doesn’t know their Japanese lore.
no subject
Of course I don't. I'm not Japanese.
[He crosses his arms over his chest too.]
And this isn't even my world anyway. What kind of cat is this then?
no subject
[Chikusa’s voice comes from around the cat again.]
I think it’s something called a nekomata…. It just came into our temple and started hanging around one day…
no subject
[He doesn't understand what other purpose the cat heckling him could serve.]
no subject
Just ignore it…
[Finally letting the cat go, it lands on what is apparently a dresser and then scurries away off screen. Chikusa picks up the phone again.]
But my point is…. There can be all sorts of things in the Far Shore. I didn’t know there were cats like that who could just get into your house and start eating all your food…. So there’s probably worse.
[Murphy’s Law, you know]

[Dokugakuji nods at that, still a little weirded out but willing to let it go.]
Well... thanks for the advice. I should check in on my shinki right about now, though. I'm not at the party yet.
