Humans are irritating
Most of you are irritating
Most of these prayers are irritating
Explain to me again why I must bother with this ridiculous cycle of answering these ridiculous requests only to have the very same people ask for more

That's true. Unfortunately, I think it's because of the human impulse of greed, like you said before. If someone gets something for free, it gives them an expectation.

it would be stupid of me to ignore exactly what came before. besides I feel that the role is suited more for someone of my nature then not given the fickleness of Fate.

[he isn't use to this. he never had been use to it and he will never be use to it. the bits and pieces that Shingo left in him was always going to jar too much with his nature, but this deserved as close as an honest answer Ankh can give.]

[Forrest is just a nice guy who worries about his friends, and he considers Ankh one of them.]

[it's such a weird feeling to have friends. Ankh never had them until Eiji and the rest came into his life. he is still not use to it.]

[And in about an hour, Forrest walks through the front entrance of Ankh's temple, carrying a small grocery bag with him.]

Ankh? It's Forrest. I forgot to ask what kind you liked, so I hope strawberry is all right.

[There's a lot of red stuff at his temple, so he figured...]

[He was perched on the counter separating the main area from the kitchen, his feet planted on a stool and his tablet on his knees. Usually he would be reading something or watching something, but he looked like he wasn't doing much of anything, just looking at a blank spot on the machine. At the sound of a voice, he raised his head.

Strawberry wasn't his favorite flavor but it was kind of familiar. Ankh would take that over anything right now, considering how he has been feeling lately.]

It'll work.

Where do you keep the bowls and silverware? I'll get a bowl for each of us.

[He's trying to keep the mood as light as possible.]

In there somewhere.

[Waving a hand over his shoulder at the kitchen area, he set the tablet down next to him and hopped off the counter. Ankh doesn't pay attention where anything goes even if this was his place. Things moved or things were replaced and he didn't have to use a dish for his food if he really didn't want to.

Using a dish was a human thing and Ankh didn't need to show that he was human. But since Forrest was trying to be friendly in the face of his usual moodiness, he felt he should at least make an attempt back. It just wasn't going to be a good attempt.]

[Forrest is more or less used to this. There were more than a few members of the army at home with an attitude like Ankh's. He's back after a few moments with a bowl of strawberry ice cream for each of them, and he hands one over to Ankh before taking a seat on one of the pillows. He'll just quietly eat for the moment, since he doesn't want to push if Ankh doesn't feel like talking.]
