Dance epidemic tonight - video/action

Yo!

[The video feed flicks on to reveal the grinning face of one Barry Goodman. As he steps back, arms folded confidently, a view of the room he's standing in opens up  It's large and empty, with wooden floors, burnished steel bars along the walls, and with plenty of natural light streaming in through the windows. In short, it's a dance studio.]

I'm proud to announce the grand opening of my new talent agency: Sparkle Motion! With as many stars as there are in the heavens!

[His smile widens, and he dramatically waves his arm.]

...Well, someday, anyway. That's where you guys come in. I know heaven's got talent - I've seen it. So I'm gonna do what I do best - help all you stars out there shine as bright as you can! After all, we can't spend all our time fightin' ayakashi, right?

[Letting out a big laugh, he folds his arms again.]

So if you think you've got real star power, come on and show me what you've got! Hahaha!

[With a bit of a reserved half-smile, Maria comes forward a little as he does, shifting her feet a bit to get her shoes back to a more comfortable spot rather than feeling like her toes are pressed into the end. Having the ability to make moves like that in heels is one thing, but having them be comfortable is another one entirely.]

Thank you. I'm guessing Sheryl doesn't recommend many people - she seems like someone who would value ability.

[It's only a vague sense she's gotten, but that day in the hospital, she'd seemed much more enamoured with the idea of demonstrating her own skill than singing alongside them.]

[Barry's used to seeing that too - lord knows he's watched Sanzang dance herself sore enough times.]

Yeah, her standards are pretty high. I'm not too surprised you're as good as you are. I dunno how much I'm gonna be able to help ya improve, to be honest, but I'll do my best!

[declamando]

[Well, at least he's honest about it. Still, that's not Maria's prime concern here, so she gives a more open smile when it seems like it could become a worry.]

That's all I can ask. Besides, I think something like this has other benefits - being able to work with others and meet new people with their own talents and passions to share, for example.

Oh yeah, definitely! That's the kinda thing I'm hopin' for with this. If we get a lot of talent in the same place, we can do all kinds of team ups. Maybe a whole bunch of different idol units.

[declamando]

Well, there do seem to be a few of us here. I've only met Freyja and Sheryl so far in terms of others who've always been in the industry, but with the number of us here, that kind of talent wouldn't just be in us.

[It's a little exciting to think about that, too, potentially being able to guide some new people into that world as well. Or whatever it is they can make of it here, when their relationship with the Near Shore is so strange.]

[very_goodman]

Yeah, I've met a few others who're pretty good too. You know Honoka and Elise at all? They're shinki like me, so who knows - maybe they're pros too.

[declamando]

[A look of thought crosses Maria's face for a moment, but she ends up shaking her head, because neither of those names rings a bell at all.]

I don't think I've met them, no, but it's good to hear you've found some other strong talents so soon after opening.

[very_goodman]

Gotta make a strong start, after all!

[declamando]

That's true. It'll be good to meet them whenever things really start up, beyond just the auditions.

[It's an important step, but having that good starting base is when the magic can really happen.]

[very_goodman]

Yeah, I'll have everybody here for a big meet and greet once we get things up and running.

[declamando]

Sounds like fun, and a good way to get everybody to meet each other from the start. [There's an approving nod at the idea.]

Did you need anything else from me today, or should I just wait until you call for that gathering?

[very_goodman]

That should be it for today. You're definitely in. Think you'd be up for helpin' out some of the younger members if they need it? Not everybody knows how to compose their own songs, after all.

[declamando]

Oh, of course. [That definitely gets a smile on her face.] I've worked with younger talents before, so hopefully I should have the experience they need to help them into that part of things.

[very_goodman]

Great! That'll be a big help.

[Barry's all smiles as he extends his hand.]

Welcome aboard!

[declamando]

[Reaching out to shake his hand again, Maria's smile becomes a little wider and warmer.]

I'm glad to be part of it. I suppose I'll see you next when we all gather for the opening, then.

Thank you. Good luck with the rest of your auditions. [With that, Maria gives a wave, starting to head back towards the door.]
