Looks kinda like a sanskrit character or something else from that region to me.

Nope. Familiar, not fluent. Trying a sanskrit dictionary though. Or maybe post the picture around India and see if they know - if you can hold their attention long enough, hah.

Welp, none of those characters.
Sanskrit, Mandarin - new or old, Korean, Japanese - new or old...
I don't think it's a character at all now.

I'd hardly call it random.
But a symbol and not a language's character, sure. Seems that way. Not like it's gonna be something further west than Arabic.
