I'm curious about the other shinki here. From my understanding, we all are given unique forms or "vessels" which are used to serve our gods. These vessels can range from a variety of items, though they are primarily intended to be used as weapons or protection against Ayakashi. However, I haven't seen any lists of examples or surveys regarding what these forms may be. It's difficult to gauge what to expect without any examples to draw upon. A more comprehensive list of shinki forms and abilities would also be useful to newer gods and shinkis who may not be certain of what they're capable of, or how a more unorthodox form might be used.
If anyone is willing to share, I wouldn't mind keeping such a list up to date.
Of course, identifying details may be removed upon request. I'm more interested in knowing the variety of forms currently available and which ones are the most common type. Information from the "new" shinki would be preferred, as opposed to the "older" shinki from before the changes in the Heavens, though I'll gladly accept your information as a separate data group.
You can respond here or contact me directly, either is fine. [And here he leaves his contact details for the latter option.]
On an unrelated note, I'd be interested to hear from anyone who's familiar with or currently a cyborg or sentient machine. I've already met a couple of you. Perhaps there are others here?

Not currently. I seem to have an affinity for machines, so it only makes sense for me to seek out more information. Perhaps a god wouldn't understand.
Besides, I think it's fascinating. If shinki are dead souls brought back to life, why would they mimic physical augmentations to the body? Can a machine have a soul? Not to mention the implications of a machine becoming a god. It's all very interesting. I want to know more about them. [if all the dead souls/god nonsense is even slightly true, anyway.]

No I get it though. You guys don't remember much right? It's only natural you'd want to find out more about anything that resonates with you.
[It seems he picked the right answer -- one particular question from a friend comes to mind and that's certainly working in his favor -- so she bites.]
We've got people coming in from all kinds of strange worlds and distant places though. It doesn't surprise me at all if the line between organics and synthetics gets a little blurred along the way. Can't say I ever felt like any less than myself before or after either but the upgrades sure have their uses. That works in heaven's favor as much as ours. [Shepard was never much for philosophy but pragmatic she can do.]

Perhaps it's a matter of perspective. A "soul" isn't a very simple thing to measure. If one perceives their augmentations as a part of their identity, that may be enough to carry those alterations on to their second life. Or it could just be that our bodies here reflect our appearances as they were prior, regardless of our own feelings.
What sort of "upgrades" do you have in place? Minor changes, major changes...?

Regardless of whether you remember or not it sounds like you've got a lot of experience with this sort of thing. [These aren't the sort of questions that stem from casual interest and now he's got her thinking about it too.] I had assumed it was the later for simplicity's sake but they really don't have to play by those rules do they? Why not turn us all into anthropomorphic animals? [There's a wry joke in there somewhere.]
That's a good question though. Mine aren't anything you'd see just by looking but that doesn't mean they're insignificant by any means. Lets just say they're the kind of the thing second chances are made of.

So that would be major changes, mostly internal, presumably to circumvent death? [He can take a wild guess.] External augmentations are easier to identify, but that doesn't make the internal any less interesting to me. Do you have any physical capabilities beyond what you would considered pure human standards? They wouldn't really be upgrades if they only performed the job that the organic parts normally would. Are there any external changes, even minor ones that would be difficult to notice?

You're close. Real close. [She's not quite comfortable divulging the extent of her extreme near death experience over the internet.]
It's nothing that interesting though. The guys that did the work mostly wanted me as is but some augmentation was invitable. You can think of it like a sort of me plus. Harder better faster stronger. Survived a poisoning I had no business walking away from so I can't complain about that but some laser vision would have been nice. [And then there was the asshole meter scars but the good doctors took care of those. Alas.]

Nothing that interesting? I'll be the judge of that, keke. If the groundwork was already put in place, implementing additional changes should be much easier compared to working on an unmodified subject. It's just a matter of finding someone with the skills to make such changes.
[As for whether Add is that someone or not... only one way to find out!
He should probably start with something a little more basic than cyborgs eye laser surgery, though.]

Ah. Why do I get the feeling being taken apart is back on the table? Even if it is with the intention of being put back together again. [Eye lasers sure would be worth it though.]
no subject
Oh? I didn't realize we'd put anything on the table yet, but that condition is fine with me.
