I guess this is the best way to ask -- has anyone else noticed some of the shinki act a lot more reserved than others? Not like a quiet person. That's not a bad thing. Like it's hard to talk to them about themselves and they don't remember a name other than the one their god gave them?
Ah, if it matters, I'm a god. I'm just trying to figure out how I can best help my shinki. He's my responsibility after all.

[Also: ...that's gross, that soul thing. That's even more gross than what he does.] Just trust me on pulling out the souls, no one's going to be moving around much after that. It's like pulling the engine out of a vehicle.
If these quiet types are "tucked away" like you've seen before, that sure does raise the question of what they did to deserve it.

[But trying to put Meji on the same field of 'deserved it' as Mom seems... complicated isn't even the word for it. His gut just starts twisting at the thought of it.]
I saw something about maybe it's just the spell not working correctly, but maybe that means they can be pulled out of it. I've seen that work once before. But if it's something to do with their souls... I don't know. I have so many questions now.

There's a spell?
I'm almost positive it ain't something to do with the souls coming out. Your other idea's probably easier to make happen.

[If the guy's not that great... but then who is he to judge? Damn.]
I'll probably ask around a bit more before I go down there.

[This is very reassuring, he knows.]

I keep hearing that thing about legitimacy -- if we're not really gods, why would they *call* us gods then?
And have us answer prayers and the like?
I'm used to being in someone's service, not like I can't do what I'm asked if I'm given direction, damn.
Don't need to be called a God for that.

Best guess, it's for the smoke and mirrors. There're people praying to the name no matter who's listening, and helping them out ain't the worst way to spend time. It's not like the boys in charge here are forcing our hands at much.
[The shinki having their hands forced, on the other hand... Well, everyone has a bone to pick about Shinki Rights.]
It's tasteless at best calling us gods, make no mistake. But the people like having someone to look to.

[He's never placed much stock in it himself, until he saw the Seiten Taisei fighting up close and very personal.]
That's good they're not forcing our hand at least. I haven't answered a prayer yet but I was worried I'd just get another Messenger at my door telling me what's what and this is what they need Kshitigarbha to go do now. I like knowing who I'm serving first, even if I'm used to being in service.

[Real Gods Suck]
Still, the prayers are something of an obligation if you're particularly fond of existing. No believers makes no gods, and such.

'No believers makes no gods'?
I think I missed that part before.

Man, what kind of 'privilege' is that?
Thanks for telling me.
