I understand a shinki is a weapon for their god. Are there other responsibilities included with that title?

There aren't any overarching responsibilities as such. I'd recommend asking your god.

After all, each of them has different needs and interests.

What does yours ask for?

My first goddess used to tell me that, even as shinki, we are still our own people.

If you want to help him, he can help you think of a way to do so, but you can pursue your own goals as well.
