heyyy every body the names kazuma kuwabara and im here to fight demons and kick bad guy tail

im 15 my birth day is febuary 27 and i like cute girls and cats

im a shinki and kurama is my god so if you mess with him ill mess you up got it? im super tough and i dont take crap from any one i dont care if your a god or a demon or any thing else i dont care ill take on anyone who tries to mess with my friends

[Right, these phones can take pictures too! Is there anything they can't do? He's starting to suspect there isn't.]

[He fiddles with his for a little bit, then his face - or rather, his nose and eyes, squinted in concentration - fills the screen] Alright, so it's the video camera thing... is it on? Is this working? What's that flashing red dot mean?

[...Geez.]

Yeah, it's on; The red light means it's recording. You might want to pull it back some though. It's a little close.

[She rests her chin on her palm, propping her phone up on a little stand on her table so she doesn't have to hold onto it.]

[Look, he's still working on it, okay? No one is an expert right away]

Oh, jeez, sorry! [He jerks his arm back, holding the phone out at arm's length] Is this better?

Yeah, better.

[She looks mildly pleased] Have you been settling in okay? None of Kurama's plants have had a go at you yet, have they?

[He beams at her, proud of himself for getting the video thing right] Oh yeah, no problems here! Kurama showed me which ones were dangerous, but he said they're mostly only dangerous to smokers, which I'm not. Plus, he's getting me a cat!

[Her immediate thought is IS THAT SAFE? re: a cat among those dangerous plants, but... If Kurama's the one getting the cat then it's probably fine, right? Right. She'll.. try to believe in that.]

That's...surprisingly cute of him. [Her expression softens and there's a hint of a smile.] I'm kind of surprised it's not a fox.

[That's a joke. Maybe.] What kind of cat is it?

A fox? [Actually, something about that sounds right when he thinks about it, but he does have to think about it first] Well, I mean, I guess foxes are pretty cute too, but I'm more of a cat person. So getting a cat makes much more sense.

She's white and has green eyes and her name is Moonstone! [Devourer of the Unwary, but that part is a little weird, so he's just going to leave it out]

I've heard they're a little like cats. Mixed with dogs. But they're loud and can be a little much to handle. I bet they're trainable though... [She trails off, seeming to consider this for a moment.

...ANYWAY.]

She sounds cute. I'm glad you're happy. Kurama's a good guy, if a little-- [Yuri pauses, wondering just how to finish her sentence without sounding weird.] Um, well... He's... [Her face starts to turn red] He knows how to get under your skin, I guess. He's not bad, but he's definitely smarter than he'll let on. You know?

[So thing about Kuwabara is that he might not be the smartest guy on the block, but he's actually pretty damn good at reading people. And between the trailing off and the way her face gets red, Kuwabara has an idea what's going on here. His eyes light up with a mischievous glint and his face splits open in a grin]

Oh yeah, he's definitely really good at getting under your skin, I can tell. It's probably because he's SOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooo cute~ huh? [he waggles his eyebrows, chuckling low in his throat] Those big green eyes of his just stare right into your heart, don't they?

M--Mm... [She makes a small noise of agreement, expression distant and distracted like she's remembering something. Which does absolutely nothing to help her blush. In fact, it increases.]

When he was over it's like I couldn't escape it; it's like he can see right through you. [And pick apart everything at a glance.] He's pretty [pause, how does she say this?] persuasive.

[Manipulative, maybe, if she wants to be rude]

[--WAIT.]

What-- What are you trying to imply? Cute? I don't-- That's not what I was-- I never said--

[ABORT ABORT SEND HELP SOS]

You totally said he was cute at least twice since we started talking! [He cackles outright now, pointing at her] And man, you should'a seen your face just now! You were totally all starry-eyed! You totally have a thing for Kurama, that's so cute!

[WHEN. WHEN. SHE WANTS TO SEE THE RECEIPTS.

She opens and closes her mouth a few times, having no idea how to handle this situation. It's not one she's ever had to deal with before; even when she'd had friends, there hadn't been much of this level of teasing.]

He's-- a good man... [She speaks with some difficulty, trying to figure out how to salvage this.] He's just a friend, that's all. He's helping me with training. It's not like that...!

[Just scroll back through the thread, girl! Just look at those video clips of yourself!]

Yeah, he's a good guy, which is all the more reason you should go for it, if you like him. [he settles down just a little bit, but he's still grinning smugly] A guy like him won't do you wrong. You couldn't do much better.

at least he seems to have settled down some. Maybe this is still salvageable]

It's really just training. [Sexy training. She covers her mouth a moment, getting her blush back under control.] Something more than that between us is...

[Yuri shakes her head.] That's not the kind of thing for someone like me. [SO THERE.]

[Her words make Kuwabara sober completely. No, not because he believes her words - because he believes she believes her words. To think someone like her, someone who's been so kind and thoughtful, could feel that way about herself... it breaks his heart.]

Hey. [his voice is quiet and gentle, like he's trying to coax a cat out from hiding] That's not true. I know I've only known you a day, but I know that's not true. You're a good person, I can sense it, with a kind heart and gentle soul. There's no reason you don't deserve to love and be loved. I dunno what happened in your past to make you feel that way, but things are different, now.

You deserve to be happy.

[Alright, color her surprised. She mimics a goldfish a few times again, not sure where to begin or how to react.]

I-- [Sheesh, what conviction! Yuri thinks Kuwabara hasn't known her nearly long enough to make decisions like that about her character, but... She can appreciate it all the same.]

...Thanks. [There's definitely more to it than what Kuwabara knows, and she's really certain that it wouldn't be an actual relationship, but she's willing to concede this some.] But, still, I should probably get to know him better before I start planning out anything like that, you know?

[There. That's an easy compromise, right? And it's true-- Her and Kurama haven't only had a handful of interactions. Granted they were usually deeply personal interactions, but still!]

[Now it's Kuwabara's turn to do an animal impression, although he chooses to mimic an owl]

...But isn't that what dating is for? You know, spending time together in order to get to know each other better? It's not like I'm saying you gotta get married or anything like that, just that, you know, you should tell him you like him, and you'd like to go to the movies with him sometime.

I always thought of dating as being... exclusive. [Why is she talking about dating anyway?? Why is this happening??? Why is it that her life seemed more normal before when she talked about death and ghosts and shit like that?

It also sucks that she can't try to turn this situation around on him or anything, since he's a shinki and wouldn't know anyhow.

She stares at Kuwabara's image for a long moment, then looks away with a defeated sigh.] ...Maybe we'll go to the movies. [It'd be an interesting challenge for their training, anyway, so in all it's not a totally bad idea. Still, she looks embarrassed anyhow]

[She could try to turn it around on him, but it wouldn't really work. He likes girls and dating, and while sure, he could get flustered, it'd be more along the lines of "aw shucks" rather than embarrassment.]

Nah, everyone knows the first three dates are freebies. [he folds his arms over his chest, nodding sagely] Because sure, you might like someone a whole lot, but maybe it's only as a friend, yanno? Or maybe your date's really super hot, but it turns out they're kind of a an awful person and you don't wanna deal with that. You can't always tell that stuff from a first date, so you get a couple tries before you decide if you really wanna commit.

[Well, it makes sense when he puts it that way. She crosses her arms over her chest as well, mirroring him, though her expression is still a bit skeptical. After a moment she heaves a sigh, defeated. She doesn't have the energy to compete against someone like Kuwabara.]

Alright, alright, you convinced me... We'll go on a date. [GOD...]

You're really convicted in these sorts of things, aren't you. [Power Of Love and all that]

[He gives her a smug look, grinning from ear to ear]

No one can stop the Warrior of Love when he puts his mind to something! Besides, what have you got to lose by seeing a movie together? Absolutely nothing, that's what! So go have fun, you crazy kids.
