This is for all shinki:
What do ye do about a stubborn, sometimes reckless, selfless god? I wanna help them, but every time I try, I'm not sure they appreciate it.
I feel like I'm angering them an' I don't want to.
[This is his way of asking for help. He really did try to mask his sometimes outdated and awkward spelling/phrasing, though it seems to shine through nonetheless. Please don't kill him, Shun!]

It depends on how eager they are to listen to you. If they aren't willing to listen, sometimes all you can do is let them make a mistake so they'll learn while being there to help get them through it.
If you feel like they're making a very dangerous choice, though, and can't be persuaded otherwise, worrying about angering them should be the last thing on your mind compared to helping them.

It's not that. He makes great choices! I jus' wish he thought more about himself an' doin' what makes him happy.

You can't just make someone be happy, as nice as it would be.
You can suggest it to them or create opportunities but it's their own choice, at a point.

Friends should lend a helpin' hand like that.
