Seeing as we're from different times and places (at least that's what I think), I'd like to ask if anyone can tell me anything about this sword. (see enclosed attachment)

It just showed up in my room today, stuck in a stone. I also might need some help getting it out. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

We're okay! Zoro and I are going to move the rock out front. If you want to come over and take a look at the sword, that would help too.

I'm trying to see if it looks familiar to anyone or if anybody can tell where or when it comes from.

Couldn't hurt to have another set of eyes on it, I guess. Dunno how much help I could really be, though.

You never know. Besides, you look like a guy who's seen this sort of stuff.
It kind of looks like a cosplay prop now that I think about it.
Maybe you know something I don't.

All right, where is this thing?

[He's rubbing his hands together, getting ready.]

[ He raises his hand in greeting before holding out the other one to show him the sword. ]

Here. It looks to be western. Definitely a saber. At least that's what Google tells me. Does it look familiar?

Nothin' I've ever seen before. Maybe it's magic.

Maybe. Because of this.

[ He holds it up, one hand gripping the sheath, the other gripping the handle. He makes to attempt to pull the sword from the sheath but it doesn't budge save for a few blue sparks. ]

Either magic or some sort of security system.

Hmm... maybe both. There's probably some kinda special word or phrase you gotta say when you're tryin' to draw the sword.

That sounds kind of far fetched... but given where we are, maybe sky's the limit.

[ A sigh as he scrutinizes the sword a moment. ]

It looks kind of military.

Military, huh... dunno much about that. You some kinda soldier?

I'm not sure.

[ He really can't imagine himself being a military man. All he wants in life is to collect manga and build computers... or at least that's what was interesting to him now. ]

It makes me think I was though. I'd say either military... or a really rich cosplayer.

Gotta say, I'm stumped.

[Barry folds his arms, shaking his head as he looks at the sword.]

[ Frowning as he studies the blade. ]

I'll probably just hang on to it until... I dunno. Maybe I'll remember how to open it someday.
