Have any shinki woken up one morning to find that they could suddenly recall something? Like a piece of their memory had been restored, as if it were never missing to begin with.

I need to know if it's a bad sign, or if anything needs to be done.

That does make sense. How, exactly, are we different from normal shinki? This isn't something that was ever explained to me.

And as for blight... It was a horrible memory, but I haven't caused any yet. I hope that means I can control my emotions well enough. I wonder if I should continue to check on him.

We keep our names. Our real names, as far as I can tell. Have you noticed, with shinki like Yukine or Kazuma, that the first character of the name they're called is the same as the name they're called as a weapon?

It's because their entire name comes from their god. To remember our real names and keep them even if we move from god to god... that's very unusual.

You can check for blight on your own body, as well, if you're concerned. It often seems to appear near the back of your neck, but it's possible for it to be anywhere. Use a mirror.

She was so insistent on etiquette I felt the need to correct her. I may be a polite man, but I hate pointless rules. Especially if my freedom is questioned.

She asked if I was prepared to face the consequences for that mindset. I told her I was, of course.

You may want to be a little more careful than that.

The Heavens do punish wrongdoers, or so I've heard. And "wrong" can mean anything that breaks their rules....

I'm a cautious man, but I'm not cautious enough that I'd stay silent for something I don't view as right. If it turns out that they'd like to punish me, they're free to try.

I won't lie and say I can always keep my mouth shut in those situations myself, but if they want to punish us, I promise you, they can.

Only heard of one. A high-ranking god had apparently been involving himself with forbidden magic, and Heaven had him slain and reincarnated.

Quite recently, if what I heard was correct.

I don't know that I'd do anything quite to that degree.

Of course, we're not very high-ranking, either. I'm not sure how much we can get away with.
