If anyone finds any vultures picking through their temple, a handful of them escaped from the grounds of mine earlier. They should look like this.

If they’re not doing any damage, they should come back in their own time, so don’t make a fuss.

Since I’ve spoken to others with temple animals before – do they have to feed? I doubt rotting meat is going to be easy to come by naturally in the afterlife.

If anyone wants to help me make sure these things aren’t going to attack people on sight or anything ridiculous like that, or knows more about vultures than what I can find by a basic internet search, then you might as well visit now while I'm with them. I’ll be able to call them off if they do try anything unpredictable. [He knows at least one other person has attack-happy temple animals, so it seems like a fair caution to take.]

They seem very tame when offered their preferred food. I had some kitchen garbage at hand.

Doesn't sound like they have difficult taste, then.

It's not necessary, I'm sure it'll find its way back on its own even if you don't bring it yourself. [Not that he can really stop him if he's that intent on returning it, but hey.]

It's a very handsome bird, but I'm afraid it doesn't seem to be getting along with my dragon.

There's a hell of a lot more than just the ones that escaped, but I haven't seen how they react to anyone else yet, so I can't tell if they're any more of a nuisance as a group. At least the escaped ones don't seem to be causing much trouble.

I have to admit I was expecting something like this ever since I found out Nekhbet is represented as a vulture.

It will depend on what people do to them I would think.

Apparently I am suppose to be using a wheel or something similar. There are other symbols but the wheel is on the top of the heap.

The one that's at my temple right now seemed fairly content eating the meat I pulled out for it. It's not causing any trouble, so I don't really mind it hanging around.

As for whether they need to feed, I'm not entirely sure. The animals I have at my temple are from the other shore, so I know for certain that they need to eat. But for animals that already live in your temple...
They seem happy to, at least, so that should be a good motivation to find a means of feeding them. You could probably go to a mortal butcher and get cuts of meat for them.

Ones from the other shore needing it makes sense, but it sounds like from what you're saying that eating for the ones here the whole time is a bit like ours. It's not necessary, but they enjoy it.

I suppose. It'll have to be fairly large cuts to feed a flock this size.

That's what I'm going to guess, to be honest. We might not need to eat, but we still like to, and my shinki had a bit of an appetite.

If someone was capable of feeding one kitchen scraps and it liked that, you could do a mix of meat and scraps for treats. It cuts down on just how much you'd have to get from a butcher, and I'm sure you could get scraps from other gods and restaurants.

Vultures aren't water birds, so I doubt it'll appreciate getting drenched even if it's hardly "weak" to it.

I'm guessing you come from a world with slightly different animals if you don't recognise vultures, but yes. They're scavengers, so I'm not surprised they're not getting on well with another bird.

As long as it doesn't attack, I don't care what it does. I'm not guaranteeing it'll survive if it does.

[Mostly because she'll be the one frying it. Light might not understand what an ostrich does, but she won't let it get hurt because it's hers.]

I don't know if "cute" is the word most people would use, but I don't think I've met anything you wouldn't find cute.

Unless you're planning to keep them in your temple, they might end up coming back here. I can't say I'd be that bothered if you kept them or if they went back and forth between our temples, though. [They are in the same pantheon, too, so maybe the vultures would be more inclined to visit her.]

There are alot of things I don't find cute but there are so many more cute things. Then you have the 50/50 cute/cool. Which my shinki is! He's the coolest, cute orange ball of feathers this side of heaven!

I've been feeding them and I got closer to them. They're pretty friendly, though the hunger one got my finger a bit.

Huh. Do all Gods get holy animals at their temple or are you just lucky, Nekhbet?

I've met a few others with them, though some bring their own animals from the Near Shore. I know Artemis posted a while ago about their temple's animals attacking male visitors and residents other than them, so I'm certainly not the only one whose temple came with them.

Sounds like you have a sensible goddess, at least. Still, with the amount of people here who might not even know what vultures are, I thought it was best to at least give some warning.

Can't say I know a lot about birds, but I've been around big predators before. I'll help ye round them up if ye like?

You'll probably know more about them than you'd like to soon enough. It doesn't seem like they're particularly picky about where in or around the temple they perch.

It looks like the ones that got out have been mostly found by others, and I'm outside dealing with the rest now. It's no trouble to do it myself.
