I found somethin' that seems familiar to me. I think it's a song? I wondered if anyone could tell me more about it...

It kinda makes me sad an' I don't know why. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Sounds like some kind of children's rhyme...as lazy as the rhyming looks.

Which means why it makes you sad might not be something you want to remember even if you could.

[It's not as if he doesn't have more than enough memories of children dying in front of him to start thinking in that kind of direction, even if it could just be signs of his own childhood.]

Is it doing anything other than making you sad? If it isn't, then it shouldn't be too much trouble to just have it stuck in your head.

I might not trust the heavens at their word, but I'm not so reckless that I'd risk someone else's health on my own belief that they're omitting the real consequences of what a shinki's memories do to them.

It'd be a hell of an oversight if I complained about the heavens and their lack of care for what's happening here and then let my shinki get harmed by my own lack of vigilance. [And though he tends to automatically correct people using his first name, it's not something he's going to bother with over the network. It can't possibly be worse than some of the nicknames he's been getting.]

I can see why it'd be an improvement for some people. Especially since it's an afterlife for a lot of them.

Say what ye will, I still think it's nice of ye. I'll do my best not ta dwell. Somethin' tells me that's the best choice anyway.

I feel like we've had this conversation before, about you finding something I've done nicer than I did. [Shun's hardly trying not to be nice, but he figures these are things that come with the territory of being here and having a shinki.] Probably. There are some people here who've remembered things, it looks like, but I don't think they were trying to.

It's more peaceful than what I came from, at least.

I'm trying. It's not always clear until situations like these arise that they exist in the first place.

I don't think there's any rhyme or reason to it. Seems like everyone has a different outcome. It's sorta like how we're born. Some of us are lucky; others not so much.

Chance plays a part, but you'd be surprised how many patterns there are if you trace far enough back.
