There is a creature calling itself Jack Frost in my room. It told me it is a demon and is going to stick with me from now on.

Yes, we are here. [Flynn heads in Otegine's direction with Jack Frost hot on his heels. He may also hear a small "Hee ho!" as they get closer.]

[ Don't mind Otegine as bends down to greet Jack Frost with a pet on the head. While that's a little endearing, he speaks in a very flat tone: ]

Ah. You're the fellow who ate my frozen dessert. Don't do it again, okay?

[ He trying not to be threatening, but he's still holding his spear behind him with his other hand, but when he's done, he'll hold it out for Flynn to look at, unsheathing the blade. ]

Before I ended up a god here, I was a tsukumogami that a sage summoned. When an object has been around for a long time or affected by supernatural things, they can gain sentience. That's a tsukumogami; they're a kind of spirit, or youkai if you're paranoid. I swear that it's nothing like an ayakashi though.

[Jack Frost lets Otegine pet it (it was Boss's Boss and Boss said no attacking any of the other residents in the house) and it is seemingly not put off at all by the spear. It was hard to tell really because Jack Frost had a permanent grin for a face. It responds back with a "I won't, hee ho."

As for Flynn, he is quiet and attentive when his god shows him the spear and explains that he is a tsukumogami. His eyes sweep over the weapon, then he looks back to him.]

I see. Then, this is what you looked like before?

[ Otegine nods with a casual smile. ]

Yeah. It's probably weird to think about, especially when you don't have the memories to really know what was normal and.. less normal. But your little snowman buddy gives me the hint that at the very least, you were fine with spirits or demons. That's good.

[ He sets down the spear, and Jack Frost tries to lift it out of curiosity. Good luck with that, pal, the spear's about 48 pounds. It gets a small laugh out of Otegine. ]

But I guess that tells you that I was never human in the first place. I don't know how different they are from people of the Far Shore, and to be honest, I've had strange experiences with humans back in the day.

Yes. But I do not believe I am in dire need of one.

It hasn't done anything bad so far.

Yes, Jack Frost made that very clear when it introduced itself to me. But it has done nothing to endanger me, my god, or my fellow shinki.

Even though it's telling you it's not the same as an ayakashi, I hope you'll still be careful. It looks like two other people have gotten 'gifts' like this, but no idea how or where from.

Yes, it does. I will be sure to keep my eyes on it but so far it hasn't done anything harmful.

From what Hermes-sama was saying, there is a chance it might be something from your home. Which is weird, but at least the chance of it being harmful is a little less.
But still without knowing how it got here or who sent it... well, I'm glad you'll be keeping an eye on it.
