Where did everyone go? [video]

[Romeo looks confused as he looks into the camera]

Where did Fuwari go? She was a girl who came and was a god and she had a tiny temple in the woods and she was really nice and was miss Hibiki's friend. But her temple is gone now and I can't find her name in my phone. I know people sometimes disappear and their temples go too but she was only here for a few days and that's quicker than what normally happens.

And there was lots of people that day, lots and lots and a person who looked like a banana and I don't think I've seen them again either. [He definitely would remember the banana.]

So where did they all go?

It is! [He sighs.] There's lots of mysteries here!

Oh yeah, all sorts of them. Both big ones like how those large tin cans can fly, and the small ones like why people need so many kinds of brushes, and then these things that are a bit ambiguous on the scale.

And why the other ones can go so fast like trains and all the things in Capyba land, they were all very confusing. [He's been here a long time now but still.]

But the flying boxes are called air pains and... it's not magic it's just lots of science. Elfnein can explain better! She knows lots and lots of stuff and she told me!

They sure are! It's a whole lot of weird stuff around.

It must be a whole lot of advanced science, then. If it were magic is would almost be a bit easier to understand and explain. Little Miss Elfnein must be very smart to be able to understand and explain it sciencey.

She is! She's the smartest person I know! [Alright so some of the adults he knows are really smart as well but Elfnein's his god and his best friend so he is biased!]

But even she doesn't know where people go, or why we got big, or why we ended up in each others dreams!

So she's really very smart, then! [ Why not take a childs words for it, right? ]

Oh, yeah that is a mystery too. In the end we can probably not say anything more concrete than 'magic', it seems.. Maybe we'll find out the details later though!

She's super smart!

Do you think we will sir? Do you think someone might know? If they do they should tell us all!

They might think it's better for us not to know, but if there is a secret it will come out eventually. That's sort of how secrets work. And then we'll know for sure.

The time that people can stick around can be so short it's sort of shocking.

I guess it's supposed that people go back home to where they're from but that... doesn't really answer the question when it comes to shinki.

Well Fuwari was a god so maybe she just got to go home to the Palps but... [That's true. What about his friends who had been shinki...]

Maybe they go to one of the other heavens, mister D2.

[ Hibiki had a friend from the Alps? Huh. ]

Yeah, maybe she did. That would be best for her, probably.

And perhaps they do. Maybe they go to the heavens that they believe in.

[ But then, what about those who don't believe? D2 has his own religion but - he picks at the worn black dogtags hanging around his neck - but there are people here who are not religious. So what about them? But he doesn't say so, because he doesn't want to unsettle Romeo more than he's already been. D2 has already not helped with that. ]

But Hibiki is her bestest friend and she is here so if she goes back to the Palps she will be sad because Hibiki won't be there!

[She had said something about Hibiki being with her all that time, but that had been strange and yet another thing Romeo didn't understand!]

The heavens they believe in?

I'm sure she'll see her again later on. Maybe not today, or tomorrow, but Hibiki always shows up eventually.

[ There are a lot of strange things that they still don't know about this place, though. ]

Different people have different religions, and not all religions have the same perception of what heaven is like.

Different religions? [Romeo blinked, confused.] What do you mean, sir?

You know how there are a lot of different gods represented here?

They are from a lot of different countries and cultures beliefs. One such belief system, in a specific set of gods, thoughts on the afterlife, and views on how life should be lived, is a faith, a religion.

So a religion is believing in a god? So people who worship Gegute are all one religion and people who worship Apollo a different one?

[He understood that!] Is the afterlife... After your life. So heaven?

You'd be surprised how quickly some people leave us, unfortunately. Gods especially are kind of... unsteady, I found out.

Where do they go though? [It's a bit scary that gods are so unsteady. Did that mean that one day Elfnein might disappear? Romeo doesn't even want to think about that it is a so scary and sad.] Shinki disappear too right?

I don't know where they go... especially since sometimes they come back, in ways where they remember us and sometimes not. Shinki do disappear, but they may come back not remembering us, or come back remembering their time in the Far Shore at least, or come back as a god... it's really weird, unfortunately.

Shinki come back as gods?

[How does that work? That's really confusing!]

Some have. I knew a few of them... and at least one who's still here. Some are gods but come back as shinki too.

Gods come back as shinki too... Do gods die then?

No... I don't think it's quite like that. I think that they just... fade. I hope they go home to the people who missed them while they were here. Shinki too.

[ She doesn't want to think that any of her old friends died in the sense that they're gone forever. They're all far too young for that kind of thing. ]

How do shinki go home though if we are dead. We might go to another heaven, maybe there are heavens back in our own world where we go...

[It was all very very confusing. But he hoped they got to go and be somewhere nice with lots of friends, the people who disappeared.]
