Looking for part time work? Interested in assisting with prayers across Japan? The God of Fortune, Ebisu, is hiring for multiple positions at his temple. Applicants with skills and/or knowledge in office support, customer service, technical support, languages, agriculture, manufacturing, and fishing are highly welcome, though all skill levels are welcome to apply.
Hours are flexible, pay starts at 4000 yen/hour. Higher rates can be negotiated depending on skills/knowledge. No naming required. Additional benefits include on-site meals, travel options across Japan, and training in shinki spells.
Questions can be asked here or directed to Ebisu. Interested applicants should contact Ebisu directly to set up an appointment.
---
Speaking more candidly, any help is welcome. Even if you can only spare a few hours you will be properly compensated for your time and do a great service to the temple. The majority of work is office-based, but there are plenty of field opportunities too.

For the record, things usually aren't like that at the training sessions. There's been a lot going on lately.

I see. I had wondered if the training was standard or some preparation in current events.

The training format has been different as of late. For example, shinki weren't always sent out to find their god or temple, we were usually told to wait at the training grounds for our god to find us. It's a slight improvement, but it could use some refining. The training offered shinki is usually typical, so is the free food.
The interviews, greater presence of old gods, and emphasis on fighting and overall war-like attitude? Not so much.

Was there a problem with them waiting at the training grounds for their gods? Do negligent gods forget to pick up their shinki from school?
I jest, but it is good to know that they are willing to change routine when it is necessary - and provide food, of course. Not that I eat, but I am certain my shinki appreciate it.
This is all useful information, though. Thank you.

I can't say if a shinki was ever forgotten by a god, but on my first day, I didn't meet my god until almost the end of the day. I also did not know who I was serving until she identified herself to me. The new system is better in that regard. Change also happens on their terms more often than not.
You're welcome. Others have been around longer, but I'm happy to answer questions. Always a text away.
I guess also a desk away if you end up working at Ebisu's.

Ebisu, as in one of the Gods of Fortune? [Ravine has been around long enough and to many places to have learned a lot about the cultures and beliefs beyond the Kingdom of Judah and Neo Babylon. The least she can do is remember, when so many of the living in her world do not.]

Ebisu, as in one of the Gods of Fortune, yes. He's one of the old gods that interact with us. Amaterasu is the other - her shinki run the training sessions - but it's less often we see her. It's pretty rare for other old gods to interact with us.

Considering their boastings at the gathering upon our arrival, I am close to thankful for the lack of interactions. Their kind are sometimes oft to do more harm than aid.

"Gifts of sight." You can see the future?
The rest of the old gods didn't do a good job setting a good impression, did they. But Ebisu and his shinki are reliable. They actually care about what happens. I wouldn't try to help his temple out otherwise if I didn't think he was sincere.
