[Video] When some doors close
From: Kairi
Date: March 2
[ Kairi sits in the shade of a tree with the Soulless Shinki temple behind her. ]
I've given it a lot of thought... and I want to ask if there are any gods out there that don't have any shinki right now.
[ She takes another deep breath. ]
I can't talk about it too much right now, but after losing my goddess, the first person I would have gone to... he's gone as well. I spent a long time weighing my options the last time this happened - maybe too long. I want to try to be decisive this time.
The first few months I was here, I hardly had a day I wasn't busy helping my god with his prayers or training with the other shinki at my temple. I miss that activity and those bonds, but I miss the impact I made in the lives of people on the Near Shore more. I'm a shinki so I can't do that as well on my own as with a god who will see me as a partner.
If there's a god who thinks that we could work well together, I'd be happy to talk with you some more.

[ Until Minako's terrible, terrible 90's kid side comes out and she picks hideous color combinations.. But shh, no one has to know that yet. ]

I'm sure it'll be fine. We don't have to like exactly the same things, after all, or we'd be wearing the same clothes all of the time.

Maybe we can find one set of cute matching shirts though. They can be our friendship shirts!

[ But she's all smiles at the idea! It's a little silly, but also really fun as a bonding thing. It's perfect, to Kairi. ]
I love it, Minako. What a great idea!

[ That's a very debatable claim, but Minako seems pretty convinced of it. And she's very willing to ham it up even more when all of this seems to be making Kairi feel a bit better - or at least look a little less sad. ]
And also pretty honored to be the first! I figured you'd be so popular that you'd have friendship shirts with just about everyone.

I've received a handful of gifts that are wearable, but most of them are jewelry or dresses, plus one suit. Nothing like a T-shirt, and definitely not one matching.
I guess there was that one time I helped some friends make eyeshields for when you sleep, but none of those are matching either.
[ The only "matching" thing she's ever owned were the rings she and Forrest had. ]

Wow.. you made that with some friends? I didn't know you were so creative, that's so cool! I only buy clothes.

[ She pulls her hair back behind her ear, embarrassed. ]
I don't think it was something that I would have thought of on my own, but one of my brothers liked it so much that I got into crafts with him. Then it was a lot of fun things to do with Hajime...
[ She bites her lip there, but is still trying to smile. ]
So it just became a thing I could do with my friends, to make things that reminded us of each other.

[ With Minako being as social as she is, it's not too difficult to grasp why doing things together with other people is often much more fun than doing them by yourself. Even though it can leave slightly painful memories behind once people you used to do things with are no longer around.
So she figures maybe she should offer-- ]
If you ever feel like teaching me how to do those kind of things, I wouldn't mind doing it together with you either. It sounds like fun. [ There's still hints of her usual enthusiasm, but it's less loud. There's a soft edge to it. ] Only if you want, of course.
[ Since she's mostly suggesting it to cheer up Kairi, so if it wouldn't have that effect, then it's kind of pointless. ]

[ She went from somber to confused, which is at least a mood improvement. ]
Whatever kind of craft you were most interested in, I'd be happy to try again.
