[ Kairi sits in the shade of a tree with the Soulless Shinki temple behind her. ]

I've given it a lot of thought... and I want to ask if there are any gods out there that don't have any shinki right now.

[ She takes another deep breath. ]

I can't talk about it too much right now, but after losing my goddess, the first person I would have gone to... he's gone as well. I spent a long time weighing my options the last time this happened - maybe too long. I want to try to be decisive this time.

The first few months I was here, I hardly had a day I wasn't busy helping my god with his prayers or training with the other shinki at my temple. I miss that activity and those bonds, but I miss the impact I made in the lives of people on the Near Shore more. I'm a shinki so I can't do that as well on my own as with a god who will see me as a partner.

If there's a god who thinks that we could work well together, I'd be happy to talk with you some more.

I'd love that a lot. I've been doing a lot of experimenting with rose teas and jam if you'd be interested in trying some out! I bet the two of us could make it an awfully fun night.

Oh! Rose teas and rose jams, just on their own. [She laughs lightly at the elaboration, but, you know...] Jam might be an interesting way to sweeten tea, outside of something like honey or sugar... [You could add an interesting flavor dynamic to floral and herbal teas, she imagines.]

I ended up with quite a number of roses a little while back, and I thought that there should be some way to pull a little extra enjoyment out of them. I have plenty of both now, so we’ll have to use some of it up when you come over.

Well... if you're looking for a third way, you could always use the roses to add a scent to a hot bath?

Ahh, that sounds downright decadent.

[Sounds like Kairi's made a good suggestion...!]

I'm sure there are plenty of other ways to use the petals up, but being able to treat yourself and your friends to something nice is an awfully good way to do it, don't you think?

Exactly! That's what made me think of it. There's no point using something like rose petals for anything less than a special occasion.

[Forrest is certainly a good source on learning about decadence, she can't deny that.]

And, on the other side of things, they're definitely the sort of thing that can make pretty much anything feel like a special occasion.
