We're dead people.

As for why we're here, I guess it's because somebody needed our help. We get to choose what we do here, though, no matter why we're here.

We're not rotting, so we're not zombies, and we can't walk through walls, so we're not ghosts.

i didn't think about rotting. i guess things could be a lot worse.
