Does anybody else ever find they feel homesick?
What do you do to make it stop?

You're always moving forward. You can't ever go in reverse. So make your present the best it can be.

My apologies. I had not considered that aspect when I made this post. I will ensure that this does not happen again. Thank you, though, for your advice. You are quite correct to say that I should make the best of it, no matter how strange it is. Since I cannot replicate what I had before, I suppose I will simply have to search for another way to live.
Do you find it satisfying to be here?

What are you missing from before?
...I'm not sure I can answer your question. I'm not a normal case.

『 Text 』 | From 『 Toyotama-hime 』
...In theory, I should be 'happy' here. But more so than 'homesick', I think I am 'friendsick'.
no subject
I am certain I would be happier if only I were not here alone, and yet I would not want to inflict these feelings on my friends simply to make me feel better. I alone certainly couldn't compensate for everything they would have to leave behind. I want them here, and yet I know I shouldn't. It is a puzzle.

There is one person in particular who I am sure would come if I shouted out for him. Whether it means crossing stars or seas or even these 'far shores', he would find a way here. And that is why I must make sure to never call on him. If he, or any of my other 'precious people', were to appear before me as a shinki, I do not know what I would do.

It's okay to be homesick. Home is important, right? I miss mine a lot, too.
But sometimes when I get really sad and miss it a lot, I go find someone I made friends with here, or go somewhere I like to visit or do something fun.
It's not the same as being home, but sometimes finding something that makes you happy here makes it not so sad to be away from it for so long.

I hope I have made friends here, though. I haven't been here for very long, and there are a lot of people I still don't know. All the more reason to get out and meet them, I guess. I'll have to make a real effort, when everyone's feeling better. You're quite correct, though, there's no point sitting and brooding about something none of us can change.

Hibiki had no intention of responding to this anonymous plea for assistance - such personal, whiny uses of the PPS irritate her - but ended up looking at the comments out of a genius's preference for omniscience. It had been text, so she'd expected nothing save a mild disgruntled feeling to result.
Then she'd seen it. Written. In text. Spelled out on the screen.

I don't believe I've ever felt homesick, though certainly there were times when I longed for places other than where I was.
I know my way of living is perhaps not the best for anyone, but should you wish to emulate it, I would say to live in the moment. Engage with life around you as it happens and leave yourself no time to dwell on things you might not wish to face.

I suppose I'm more prone to think like this, since I've found myself alone and unoccupied. It's only too easy for me to dwell on my problems when there's nothing more important to think of. Seeking out company and staying busy really does appear to be the only sensible solution. If only the nights were not quite so long.
[Mirei doesn't exactly want a shinki. Not as a shinki, at least.
[She does rather want the company, though. It's too quiet here.]

Should you find the nights too long and struggle to fill them, my solution to that has become watching movies on the "internet!"

I do want to meet more people, though, when we're all feeling more up to company. The last few days were hardly an ideal way to get to know anybody at all. Hopefully, the next time we are all together as a group, it will be under far more pleasant circumstances and rather easier to talk.

I'm sure there will be. We have a lot of celebrations here. It's just... lately, things have been pretty different.

I hope we can both find something that helps a little, at least. This is such a strange place to end up.

try eating a lot of ice cream at once if you can't make it stop
no subject
Eating too much ice cream would be an excellent way to make yourself feel physically sick as well as homesick. If distraction is the aim, reading a book is a far more realistic alternative.
