[The feed turned on just in time to catch Mai in another sneeze. Nothing overly dramatic or explosive, but strong enough and with a subsequent slow recovery time to indicate this was not the first. And she was no expecting it to be the last.]
Ugh...I'm sorry.
[Taking a deep breath, she sat back and looked directly into the camera with a slightly glassy stare. Hints of red on her nose and cheeks that--for once--didn't come from blushing. At least, not the usually blushing from her.]
One of the kindergartners I was trying to answer a prayer for a while back must have gotten me sick. [At least, that was the closest to an explanation she'd managed to come up with.] I didn't even know I could still get sick, but...it's been weeks, and I only feel slightly better.
Does anybody know if cold medicine works on gods?
[That seemed to be the end of her line of questioning...except, at the last possible minute...one final thought occured to her. A thought that promptly caused her to frown.]
Oh, and whoever thought to leave that package on my Temple doorstep? Not funny.

[Action, off-screen--might be overheard though.]
You do know, with it being this long, I'm going to Hakkai's for medicine right? Even if normal cold stuff doesn't work, his should, considering he's a god.
[Someone is mother-henning at his Goddess.]
I want you sitting down though, and resting again, before I do that. You'll make it worse if you're not careful.
[Action, off-screen--might be overheard though.]
If that's what you want, I won't stop you. [She waved a dismissive hand in the air--dismissing the "argument", not him. Even at her weariest, she wouldn't do that.] And I've been resting all day. I feel like--
[She paused for a yawn before continuing.]
--the walls of my own Temple are closing in on me.
Re: [Action]
...What about if I take you to Hakkai's instead then? It'll get you out of the temple, and he can see about helping you shake this thing faster?
[Action]
Alright.
Just give me a minute to change and we'll head out. Should you let him know we're coming?
Re: [Action]--->[Video-LOCKED]
I'll give him a quick call while you change, alright?
[Which he'll pull out his phone to do right then. Locking and calling Li Tieguai...]
Hakkai, are you at your temple? I may need your help with Mai, as she's still got a lingering cold of some kind.

Hello? -- Oh, Trunks. I'm out at the moment, but I can meet you there. What time?

I suppose if you can catch their illness, their medicine should work too. But if it's been weeks and it's not getting any better-- There is a god of medicine around the Far Shore, have you thought about consulting him?

[...though, judging by the slightly weary expression, she was too tired to take his words at anything more than face value. And deliberately refraining from adding the part where she'd kind of been out and about a bit longer after she'd first noticed symptoms than she probably should have. Oops?]
Trunks has.
He's either ordering me to let him go, or just telling me he's going. [A shrug. Because this was a completely normal goddess-shinki relationship, yep.] I don't have the energy to argue with him anyway.
no subject
Good, let Trunks take care of you. If you argue with him and let it go untreated for any longer, I'll kick him for being a doormat. [ That's a joke ] But after I carry you to Li Tieugai temple myself.
no subject
[Only half joking in return.]
What is it with you boys and threatening to carry me everywhere? I can still walk, you know.
no subject
That's what you do with a sick patient, right? Cannot let you overextend yourself.
But really, had no idea gods can get sick here.

The first couple of days, I though I was just tired from staying up late.

...you mean the bird?

[...This probably isn't helping.]
He's a god of medicine....

Oh. Hakkai.
Trunks already said he wanted to take me there. [Then the first part of the conversation caught up with her, and she blinked.] How did you...um...what's the word for it? Un-blight?
no subject
Anyway, I just did what I needed to... It worked out. [Somehow.] We killed an ayakashi.
no subject
Congratulations?
[Was that even the proper thing to say? She couldn't remember, but it sounded fine enough to her.]

[Loud child voice shouting through the feed. He frowns, looking concerned]
Uh, have you tried eating soup? I've never been sick so I donno if it helps but I heard it does.
Video
You've never been sick at all, Goten? That's...very lucky for you.
What kind of soup do you think I should have?
Re: Video
[As far as he remembers]
Uh....one with everything good in it! But vegetables will make it taste gross....so lots of meat!
Video
Meat can be tastier, I agree. But it is important to eat vegetables when you're sick. They have a lot of extra vitamins and other good things to help you fight illnesses. Make you stronger.
no subject
[Because Goten has no interest in doing so. He'll bring you his share too just to make double sure she feels better soon]
Do you want me to bring you a carrot or something? Will that help?
no subject
I can even see if I have some food left over for you.
[Says the goddess who should be resting. And also on her way over to Hakkai for a check-up.]
Video
[Said from experience with his first one.]
