----------

As some of you may recall, an incident occurred around October 2nd involving some ayakashi and dimensional rifts. This was the unfortunate side-effect of an experiment of mine, and I take full responsibility for what happened. If anyone has any grievances over what happened that day you can take it up with me.

That said, I do have some important information to share regarding what was discovered during that experiment. I'll try to explain the details concisely.

[translation: this is still going to be extremely tl;dr]

Preface/Summary Of Events

Over the past few months I've been working on a method to cross between distant dimensions. By "distant dimensions", I'm referring to worlds such as the ones each of us come from, rather than "closer" dimensions such as the Near and Far Shores of this world. I'm also interested in finding out where gods and shinki go when they disappear from this world, as well as how we can willingly leave this place to return to our own worlds.

I've uploaded my research on these topics previously. The information can be found in the following BBS entries. I don't like to repeat myself so read through it yourself before asking any obvious questions.

My goal since then has been to replicate the portal observed in the July experiment. I primary issue I ran into was a lack of energy. Dimensional travel requires a great deal of energy to perform, and due to the nature of the portal I was trying to open I'd also have to access and analyze hundreds of dimensional coordinates before locking in on the one I wanted. I don't have that kind of power, so I needed another source.

To give a bit of additional background, Henir is a god that exists in the world I come from. Scientists don't believe in nonsense like gods and heaven without evidence to back it up, but several years ago I came across some ancient research papers detailing a top-secret experiment to open a gateway to Henir's domain. The scientists of that time period were able to use Henir's energy as a power source, and theorized that a core of limitless energy existed at the center of that dimension. This information was useless to me at the time since most of the key details had been removed, but since I am currently the "Henir" of this world it came to my attention that such a core might also exist in this world as well.

In short, I was able to find it. I began making plans to test the Henirc core's output and devise a method to siphon out the energy I needed for the dimensional experiments. October 1st is when the first real test of the core's energy was to be performed. I enlisted the help of Zelda and Lenneth to assist with the experiment, as their unique abilities would provide some form of "safety net" in case the core's energy proved dangerous or reacted in an unpredictable manner. Zelda's shinki, Oscar, as well as my own, Rin, were also present.

Unfortunately, I greatly underestimated the strength of the core. We were drawn into it and became trapped inside. As some of you have probably realized, the energy radiated by the Henir core causes numerous psychological effects on those exposed to it. While inside the core I had access to all of the vast energy stored within it, but I was not immune to its influence affecting my judgment. I lost sight of what was important and became obsessed with completing the portal at any cost. The rifts and spread of corruption were likely a result of my reckless use of the core's powers. I'll refrain from going into too much detail about what happened in there, but it was my impulsive actions that put everyone in danger, both inside and outside of the temple.

That is what happened leading up to the experiment. I can at least say the experience was not entirely a waste. Despite how poorly everything else had gone up until that point, the portal experiment was a success.

Results of Dimensional Portal Recreation Experiment

While inside the core, I utilized the highly concentrated energy within to generate a portal using the set of coordinates obtained in the July experiment as a guide. After an indiscernible length of time I was able to successfully open a portal with matching "hub dimension" coordinates detected within. As far as my Dynamo was able to tell, it was a perfect replica of the portal found in the July experiment.

There were two attempts to make a god "leave" through the portal into the dimension on the other side. Unfortunately, both attempts ended in failure.

Subject A: Caster
Caster's body was disintegrated on contact with the portal, similar to the observations made in July where the god's body crumbled into "dust". However, no "soul" appeared like it did in the July experiment. No matter or energy, visible or invisible, was detected moving through the portal successfully by Dynamo.
Caster has revived in this world since then, confirming that he was not able to leave this dimension.

Subject B: Dokugakuji
Dokugakuji's results were identical to Caster's.
I am uncertain if he has been or will be revived, but his temple is still present on the Far Shore and his BBS account is still showing as active.

These results contradict what was observed in the July experiment. As much as I'd like to perform more extensive research on this, due to the nature of the experiment and what it would require to repeat it's not something that's viable at this time. It's impossible to make any certain claims based on such little data, but there are still a few conclusions we can draw from this information.

Conclusions/Theories

  • Our bodies here are most likely not our original bodies. They appear to be unable to sustain themselves when placed outside of this world's boundaries. In addition to the information listed above, we also know that shinki here are already dead, certain biological functions have been made unnecessary, gods and shinki who are killed can be brought back to life without any signs of injury, etc. The Heavens themselves only speak of drawing in "souls" as well, I don't think they've ever suggested that their methods would involve moving physical bodies across dimensions.

  • Due to our apparent inability to physically leave this dimension, some method must be used to draw out and "move" the individual's soul to successfully leave this world by choice.

  • No observations of this nature have been made for shinki at this time, but until evidence can be found we can assume that shinki would produce similar results as gods.

  • Whatever method is used to force gods (and shinki) to leave this world must have some way of manipulating and moving their souls remotely, as no other presence was observed in the July experiment.

Leaving this world, or finding the missing gods and shinki, is not going to be as simple as creating a pathway and walking through it. Doing so at this time is impossible. However, I don't think that means this is a dead end. We simply need to look at the problem from a different angle.

Instead of trying to make a pathway, I think the correct course of action would be to use the pathways this world creates on its own. We know that people leave this world regularly, and some unseen force is capable of sending them through a portal that would otherwise be impassable. If we can find out what that force is and what causes it to act, we may be able to manipulate it for ourselves or learn how to recreate the effects.

In other words, I want to control that force that removes people from this world directly.

This force may also be related to how outsider gods and shinki are brought into this world, so research into both topics is of interest to me right now. I have some ideas on where to start, but I'll save that for another time.

For now, if you have any questions or ideas you'd like to share you can post them here.

Were the gods aware of you doing this? I'm one of Caster's shinkis and I'm rather concerned.

Your observations are somewhat incomplete. I believe I comprehend why, as you state you did not believe in (and thus did not understand) gods.

Gods are not physical beings, as mortals understand it. They are spiritual, existing apart. What you have discovered is in many ways consistent with all beings here becoming gods, although with many significant distinctions from those of us who were always gods.

However, my own essence has undergone changes on coming here as well, or else I would have not experienced what everyone else did in that void. We must conclude that the addition of a divine mantle here is a distinct and substantial change to the nature of one's soul, no matter what form that soul was originally.

Speaking as scholar myself, one who has performed a myriad of studies, your conclusions are slightly flawed--or rather lacking. By not getting consent from the gods in question prior to the experiment, you have no way of knowing if it was something about the specific god or if it was in fact because of this world. If you manage to repeat this sort of experiment, I would make sure to get that information.

That being said, this would explain why gods and shinki both come and go at seemingly random and why some can go into a coma and experience events back home as if they were actually there.

[Listen, Oscar's wounds are still very, very fresh and honestly he shouldn't be talking to Add while he's still dealing with the effects of being in another dimension for two whole weeks.]

You selfish fuck. You talk about the science when there are still people hurting because of your mistake? How are you even still alive after what you pulled is beyond me!

[His wounds are very, very fresh.]

[It's...less surprising than he would think, the theory that the bodies here aren't their true ones. Maybe earlier on he would have been more troubled by it, but he's been here long enough now that it makes a bizarre kind of sense to hear it put that way.]

Any theories on what that means for our real bodies in our own worlds?

[He might've gotten "lucky", in a sense, having his body incapacitated before coming here, if gods have left one behind in their world, but it raises the question of whether the time they return to will be the time they departed as he's heard some claim.]

This is quite the revolution you've botched.

You'll be compensating us for the inconvenience?

[ Still, data is data. So, on the offchance his future experiments succeed.....or can give clues to aid in her own attempts to merge this puniverse with PriPara.......

No.

But I spent two whole weeks in that place, Add. No light, no food, no water. No one but me and the void. All because you deemed me traitorous. I even have marks of my time there.

Someone needs to pay.

Caster's body wasn't his original body to start with!

That may muck your findings up a little.

Or did he explain that? I suppose he may have explained that. After all, as a Caster, he probably understands this business better than I do.

[Shun doesn't actually know a lot of people who've gone home temporarily, so that helps frame it better. It certainly wouldn't make a hell of a lot of sense for that to happen if their bodies weren't in some kind of stable condition.]

I suppose that makes sense. So whoever or whatever is sending us back and forth knows what it's doing, at least, if nobody's encountered that kind of mistake when they've gone back to their world.

This just makes the question of what's doing it more necessary to answer, though.

[And yet she IS responding. For the Valkyrie, that is no small thing.]

I do not know if it is unique to this world or not, but is that not irrelevant? What we can say for certain is that the changes we have undergone here, by becoming the gods of this world, have altered us fundamentally. The gods here seem to have become closer to true gods, beings of spirit, though their transformation is not complete.

Back home, I'm a dark knight, a class of elite dark mage, and one of if not the best in my country. Most of my studies were on curses, hexes, and the like to test their efficacy, potency, and effect on certain people and things. I was also branching out into alchemy, though I don't have quite the knack for it that I do magic.

Oh yeah, that detail. Must have slipped my mind to mention it.

You do realize I was not a willing participant of this "experiment"? There was no discussion involved.

Thank you for sharing your findings, whatever you did to get them. In the future, please perform your experiments in a more professional manner.

[With consenting subjects, an awareness of your surroundings, and maybe a heads up for anyone else who might be affected. Everyone else is scolding Add fine, so she'll leave it at that.]

Have you noticed anything in your research indicating that the outsider shinki are different than the outsider gods?

[He mentions that the shinki are dead, but Sharak isn't taking that as a given based on "Heaven says they are".]

You know, if there was a possibility of everyone talking it out, instead of screaming, struggling and fighting, perhaps this whole mess could end differently.

But does that ever happens?

On occasion! Sometimes it takes some work to find an opening to speak, but one must persevere.
