Is there any way to make your weapon vessel other whatever form more useful when you transform?

You were telling them to put themselves into a sock to act as a makeshift blackjack. That's terrible advice, this is far more useful.

And if you're confused, that is not my fault. Blame Saitama for failing to listen to the introduction given to us on our arrival.

I'm talking about the whole "find new god" thing.

Yes, and that's why I'm saying to blame Saitama's goldfish-sized attention span for your confusion. You can do that, Genos. A god can claim a shinki - typically a willing shinki - at any time by giving them a new, unique name. Similarly, they can release their shinki from service by revoking the name.

Possibly. But how is this relevant to this conversation. Aidos can take care of his shinki.

But he isn't. He's out looking for his exemplar while his other shinki, Kido, is left behind feeling useless. As I see it, Kido's options are thus:

1. Do something about it, such as find another god to practice with temporarily or

2. Do nothing, and continue to feel useless.

3. Figure out possible strategies that could utilize current vessel form.

4. Find another shinki to train with. Trust me, we can be of use even when not in vessel form.

There are other options than abandoning their god because he might have his attention elsewhere in this moment.

It's not abandoning, it's supplementing. Shinki can be bound to more than one god at once. The older gods don't care for it, but as far as I can tell, it's a cultural issue, and not something that causes problems for a god or a shinki.

Hard to say. I guess it entirely depends how well you know and trust the other god.
