Is there any way to make your weapon vessel other whatever form more useful when you transform?

the only ayakashi i've ever seen was a jello blob and those don't breathe.

and i really don't want to be involved in the strangulation of anything.

They have various forms and sizes. Some could definitely be strangled. But if that's not your preferred method of dispatching enemy there are other possibilities.

Your god could handle it this way: take a sock, or something similar, not a bag, because it might be too big to get a strong hold, and plastic is less durable then fabric. Then place your vessel in said sock, swing it around as fast as he or she can, and club the intended target.

Of course it would require a careful positioning and prior identification of weak spot would help immensely, but it could be very effective.

Such form can also be used for a subterfuge with more gods present on site, to hinder the ayakashi and make it easier to defeat.

I don't know if it was suggested already, but there is a school at Menrva temple, and they have few classes designed specifically for shinki.
