[It’s rare that he posts to the BBS; Sousuke’s quiet nature and sometimes-over-focus kind of leads to that little problem. Content to dwell with his own life and his own small circle of friends and duties. But sometimes, the private life just doesn’t cut it. Especially when said private life is the entire reason for breaking his silence and going outside that small circle.

The video feed clicks on with a quiet sound, light blazing from the screen for a second until it adjusts to the scenery. It’s soon obvious he’s alone. Considering the presence of a black jacket barely resting at the peripheral of the video’s frame, it’s likely he’s holding the screen to his side. Deliberately not pointing the feed at himself. Instead, there’s a lovely shot of a quiet patch of natural garden, complete with trickling spring, breezing of clear air, and the ever-present drizzle of pink sakura petals from the surrounding grove Eros’ castle temple is renowned for.


There’s a moment of silence, semi-awkward on his end, before Sousuke finally outs with it. His tone’s calm, musing.]

Can a god and a shinki be more than god and shinki? [A measure before adding in a lower voice.] Or will it make problems between them?

[Yeah, it’s vague, he knows. The nature of god and shinki is a complex relationship. But Sousuke’s not honest enough with his softer emotions and being open to other people to outright ask the serious/embarrassing question:

[Oh yes. Mr. Teach him archery and more. Sousuke'd still be up for lessons.]

Why is that a problem?

[Actually, that's a serious issue atm.]

[deniles]

[He'd teach you other things but he's been banned.]

As I'm sure you know, a god revealing something to a shinki that they shouldn't know causes horrible mistakes.

If your god knew you from home or before, getting so close to them might cause them to reveal something they shouldn't.

[Does he know about this?]

I'm aware of that.

[Very much so.]

It'd be on the safer side not to encourage it, in that case. But you'd still be partners.

[deniles]

[Niles does. He's in big trouble.]

Mmm. What do you mean?

[takenwithhim]

[Sousuke doesn't. Bring on the arrows.]

If a god knows a shinki from the past, they shouldn't encourage anything beyond a partnership.

That's what you indicated.

[deniles]

[Just make sure you dodge.]

That's correct, yes. I mean, you certainly could. But you'd certainly be harming the god in more ways than one.

[He's quick despite his size.]

I know the burden the emotions and memories would put on the god.

What other ways are you referring to?

[deniles]

[Oh my~]

Consider that you could have been dating the god in the past. That's a memory and something they have to compare to the current moment.

And they can't even talk to you about it.

[takenwithhim]

I try not to consider those things. Thinking about my past or 'what if's' in there just cause trouble.

I already know my god can't talk to me about a lot of things.

[deniles]

Just because you try not to doesn't mean your god doesn't. You're not the one dealing with the memories, after all.

[takenwithhim]

Aa. He deals with his memories a lot.

I know it's potentially dangerous for both of us. But it's hard to suppress the feelings in return.

[deniles]

Then you'll have to deal with whatever may happen because of it. Just don't say you weren't warned then.

[takenwithhim]

If I decide to go down this route, I'll accept the consequences.

But I want to know my options before making a choice.

[deniles]

You really only have two options.

Do it. Or don't do it.

And I already know what you're going to do based on what you're saying.

Guess it's obvious. I've had a lot of people weigh in their opinions.

It'd be safer not to do it, but I'm not sure I'd last if I didn't.

[deniles]

It certainly would be safer.

But is being safer really worth ignoring your feelings?

Or are your feelings really worth ignoring safety.

[takenwithhim]

I trust my feelings. And my god.

Lying to myself won't do anything good for either of us in the end.

[deniles]

Then. You've already decided what to do.

[takenwithhim]

Aa. We might be god and shinki, but we're still human.

[deniles]

It's truly your decision on the matter then.

I'll talk to him about it before going forward.

[deniles]

And there's not much else you can do besides that, is there?

I could stay silent.

[deniles]

You could. But you won't.
