[So it's just Lann hanging out in front of the temple of Asteria.]

Hey has anybody just found cool stuff laying around in their god's temple? Stuff that wasn't there the day before, I mean.

[He angles the camera a little to one side to reveal a large purple..... actually what even is that? ]

I found this guy in our fridge the other day.

[Lann doesn't bother explaining how that thing could fit in a fridge in the first place. Instead he then shifts the angle upward. Perched happily on top of his head is this cute little guy. ]

And this one was in my shoe yesterday morning. Pretty neat, huh? I wonder where they came from...

[ Lann why do you have a behemoth as a pet? Also why are they so small? Serah has questions, but is understandably cautious about pointing them out. ]

How did you teach him to balance like that?

[ Look, she knows someone who keeps a chocobo chick in his hair, but it isn't nearly as spiky as Lann's. She's kind of curious about the physics involved here. Clearly she has the best priorities. ]

I... kinda didn't? He just hopped on once I let him out. I think he likes it up there.

[The truly remarkable thing is that Lann has a habit of tilting his head when trying to puzzle things out. And the chocochick seems to fairly easily right itself every time. Almost like it's used to this.]

[ It's kind of cute actually, and Serah can't help but smile at the sight. Although it's weird, were chocobos always here? This is the first one she's seen. Hmm. ]

[He shakes his head, which also does not dislodge the chocochick. That little guy is a pro at this.]

Not yet. Still trying to think of a good one. Any ideas?

[ You're asking the girl who named her cat after her fiance, who ran off to find her sister. Just remember that, Lann. Naming isn't really her thing. ]

Hmm. Is there someone he reminds you of? You could always name him after them.

[An absurdly cute infestation, to be sure, but...]

I know, right? At least they're friendly.

[The chocochick makes a little chirping noise and stretches its tiny wings.]

[He watches the chick on the screen for a second.]

[He reaches over to scratch the behemoth on the head. He likes that.]

Asteria. Or Ciel if you know him by that name. Why?

Only one of them was in the fridge!

They were kind of already trapped when I found them. In these little round things.

The pause is because Lann does not know the word 'species.' FInally he takes a guess. Because it's always better to pretend you can vocabulary even when you can't.]

I think the big one back there is a boy. Not sure about the bird.

What are they? (Ciel approaches with caution, gripping his walking stick as if he is prepared to use it as a weapon.) Are you certain they are friendly?

They seem pretty cool.

[Lann is pretty pleased to have such neat pets. The chocochick greets Ciel with a cheerful 'kweh.' The behemoth starts rolling in the grass. It's horns are really messing up the lawn]

I think they're animals? Something like that. Anyway I'm thinking they need names. What should we call them?

(His lawn. Ciel steadies himself with a deep breath. He must hold his temper in check.)

We must train them first. (Especially the behemoth.) Wild animals do not deserve names.

I think they're pretty well trained already.

[Lann hasn't even noticed the lawn yet. And he miiight not consider it a problem if he did. It's only grass.

But to prove his point he turns his head toward the behemoth. The chocochick barely wobbles. That thing is good at balancing.]

Hey, big guy! C'mere!

[The behemoth stops rolling and bounds over on command. And then licks the side of Lann's face with a big slobbery tongue.

Lann doesn't seem to mind and just pats its head.]

Hahaha, good boy!

....We got an owl...

[So, you know. That was a thing, once.]

An owl? That's cool. Was it in this little round crystal thing?

No. It was on the ceiling fan.

....and goes in a metal box.

Metal box, huh? Mine were in crystals. It's kinda neat 'cause you can see them running around in there.
