As gods and goddesses, should we expect live sacrifices? Depending on the culture, it seems a fairly regular practice.

If you witnessed such an offering, would you praise those responsible? Or would you punish them?

(He keeps this as text because he realizes his expression may not be...charming. But the thought is a little amusing. At least to him.)

Will you abide by what your deity stands for or branch out on your own?

I wouldn't start them myself. (He doesn't hate anyone quite that much. Yet.) I do not need fish.

But you're the one thinkin' about it...? But that's good! Wouldn't you want candy and sweets instead?

It seems a logical potentiality. (He snorts quietly.) I could not say no to a nice dessert.

[And just like that, this conversation is practically derailed from the original topic. He perks up because naturally it is a talk about sweets.]

Yeah!! You should tell your followers to do that then! If you like that more then they don't need to do the other stuff.

How would I acquire the offerings? (He gives his head a small shake.) I would not trust them to be edible.

(The final question throws him off-guard.)

I....donno? Maybe at the temples made for you down on the Near Shore?

[Goten shrugs, forgetting Ciel can't see him.]

Why wouldn't you think they'd be edible? If they made them for you to eat...

[Then again, Goten isn't one to think bad of others. He hasn't been taught that lession in life- his second life yet. Food as a gift seems perfectly okay, even if they're from strangers]

Chocolate...Gatoe? I know the chocolate part but whats a Gatoe?

Who is to stop them from poisoning them? Surely some would like to claim they killed a god.

(This is how Ciel thinks.)

Gateau is a type of cake. It's very rich and sweet.

But....most of the gods here are really nice. Aymeric's followers I don't think would do something like that?

[He's actually never thought about it.]

...It sounds fancy. Is it really really good?

All it takes is one. (He shouldn't have to think about it, but Ciel sees pain and death around most corners.)

It is. That is why it is my favorite.

[Goten hums thoughtfully, considering his words]

Mmmm....what do you do if you get poisoned from food?

And the fancy cake...I'll remember it and bring you some sometime. Izumo and Yoon are really good at cooking. I betcha they can make it! Chocolate Gatoe....

I suppose you seek medical advice or attempt to overcome it alone.

What if I have a strong stomach? I haven't eaten anything that's gotten me sick yet. Can poison hurt gods and shinki?

[ He's asking these questions like he expects Ciel to know everything. But to his defense, Ciel sounds smart.]

Huh? I just wanna get you your favorite cake! I don't think it'll be that hard but...you gotta let me try it too, Okay? I've never even heard of that cake but I don't usually eat fancy stuff. You know a lot of stuff and it's not all math and boring school stuff---oh! And I promise it wont be poisoned either! I donno even how to get that stuff....it'd ruin the cake too and I don't want that. I'll make extra sure!

We are acting as shinki and gods. As far as I can tell, my body is the same. (Aside from his new power.)

That is acceptable. If you can acquire the cake, we will share it. I can hardly eat an entire cake by myself anyway.

(He smiles to himself.) I will trust you.

[sonofson]

Mmmm I donno if my body is that same. But I know all shinki can jump high and I don't think we need eat...?

[He's never really thought much about it.]

I know once I got told I wasn't human...I'm a shinki so I think that's why? Maybe? But he knew I was a shinki though...

[His voice drifts a bit at that but he's quick to bounce back.]

-And I will get the cake! Don't you worry Ciel! You might have to wait a little bit but I'll get it and then we can both eat your favorite food together!

[The smile can be heard in his voice, espeically when Ciel says he trusts him]

Are you certain you are not merely forgetting to eat? (He seems to have energy and more energy to spare.)

I think we retain parts of who we used to be. That is why you must be especially careful. (Regaining memories is a dangerous business.)

...thank you. I will find a way to make it a worthwhile experience. (They can play a board game or he can tell a story. Ciel isn't a bad person; he's just...broken and sad.)

Nope! I never forget! I like to eat too much. I've never tried to go without eatting, that was just something I heard from one of the older shinki's here!

[Goten is strong but he doesn't have the willpower to go without food. Once his stomach starts growling it's over.]

I guess so...I never really thought about it. Lots of shinki can do different thinks. Like I can fly and I'm really strong but I have friends that can shoot fire and other really amazing powers.

[Really, he's just found everything interesting and hasn't thought much over why it was that way. Or why some people have similar powers while others don't. There's something that tells him not to. That it's a bad idea]

If I get to eat cake with you Ciel then it's already fun! You don't gotta worry about anything else!

Food is essential for a growing body. You should never try to go without. (Believe him, starvation is not fun. Then when you go back to food, nothing stays down right.)

What is it like to fly? (He is, yes, curious. While he has felt like he was flying with Sebastian, he has never actually...done that.)

...if you are sure. (No, this kid is not making him feel shy.) I do believe I have promised you how to play board games, have I not?

I always make sure to get breakfast, lunch and dinner. [And plenty of snacks in between.]

It feels....really good? Like I don't have anything holding me down and I can go where ever I want. Going fast feels good with the wind.

[He pauses thoughtfully, considering.]

Ciel! I can take you flying sometime. You should come with me. I donno if you can ride Nimbus but I can carry you super easy!

[But Goten perks at the mention of the board games. Oh, oh, there's so much he wants to do with Ciel! He's practically bouncing now]

Ahuh! You did! We still gotta do that and the sword sparring thing!

That is natural for someone your age. (And his age too, but he ignores it and eats only when he desires or when he is forced.)

I take it you are not afraid of heights. (Somehow he thinks he could overcome his fear to just...feel freedom like that.) I admit, I am jealous.

(He pauses and blinks, startled.) Nimbus? How would that...work?

We do. (Softening, he smiles.) We have plenty to do after you acquire that cake.

Nope! After going higher then the clouds and around the world, heights aren't scary at all!

[He has gotten knocked down a few times but nothing that hurt too badly.]

You shouldn't be jealous 'cause I'd fly you anywhere you wanted, Ciel! And Nimbus is a friend of mine. It's a fluffy yellow cloud! I donno why but some people can ride it and other people cant. We can see if you can and if that doesn't work then I can just carry you.

Mmmmm Does it all have to be after the cake?

[Hopeful tone of a child wanting their presents early]
