[Hello, this is Souji leaning in close toward the camera with an intensely thoughtful expression.]
So! I have a really important question.
[He's clearly thinking very seriously about it, whatever it is. So it's probably pretty important, right?
Wait for it.
Waaaait.]
Do you think kittens would get along well with ducks?
[Yeah.]

The cats I've had at my temple have gotten along pretty well with all sorts of other animals that have come and gone, for the most part?
But I think it just largely depends on both the cat and the duck in question. A kitten might trigger a nesting instinct in an adult duck, for example.

[He remembers too, although he categorically tries not to think about the things that happened back then. Because he doesn't like thinking about things that worry him.]
Our ducks are usually pretty calm, and they don't mind strange people petting them, things like that... But I guess they've never met any kittens before, so I'm not sure.

If you wanted to gauge whether they would handle a kitten, or a few kittens, well, you could probably put some kind of barrier between them. Like putting them in a pen and placing a gate between the two sides.
It'd give them a chance to see and smell each other, but no one gets hurt.

Oh, right! The ducks are technically supposed to live outside, though they sneak inside a lot. [RIP his god, ducks in his bed all the time.] But if I have the kittens inside, I could put up a little fence or something in the door and let them get to know each other that way, right?
Thank you, that's a really clever way to do it!
