[ So after waking up from a vivid dream that he's becoming more and more convinced isn't a dream at all, Yata sits in the barn at Roy's temple late this morning having a minor panic attack. Unsure what he's supposed to do about this and when the first person he would normally go ask is the one person he can't go ask, he does the obvious thing. At least for him.

He flips open a video feed to the BBS. ]

So, uh, I know this has been talked about on here before but it hasn't really been relevant to me before now... [ Which, in Yata-speak, means he didn't pay attention. ] ...but.

What do you do if you wake up and suddenly remember something - or someone - from before. And you're pretty sure they don't? I mean. That's bad, right?


(( OOC Note: Both Fushimi and Yata have woken up with the same memory, Fushimi is just the sort to freak out about it privately while Yata is not, hence this post. Both characters may be tagging back replies in this thread however, and both are open to contact or action logs as well, just specify what/who you want in your starter ))

[ The smoke of the cigarette lazily drifts up as Mikoto grows quiet. He's been ignoring the silence until then, pretending it wasn't there. That this bar, this place he called home for so long wasn't so painfully empty of the people that used to frequent. Without them, it was just another meaningless place. ]

[ He slips the cigarette out of his mouth and crushes it on the ashtray, his eyes on the ash before he burns it into nothing. ]

I don't have them here.

[ Yata stills, searching his expression. ]

'Them'?

[lionhearrt]

HOMRA.

[ Yata's not sure what that means, exactly. or at the very least, he hasn't made the connection to the Red Clan he was part of. ]

That's the name of the bar. [ At least he'd noticed the sign. ] It's more than that, isn't it? Is that what the tattoo means? [ He winces at the sudden surge of fear and nausea that question sends through him, quickly holding up a hand. ] Wait. Nevermind, don't answer that.

So they're not here. But.... but some of us are, right? [ He knows there's more than just a few with the same tattoo as him, anyway. ]

[lionhearrt]

[ Mikoto looks at him. ]

What does this place mean to you?

At the moment? [ Yata just arches an eyebrow, crossing his arms over his chest. ] It's your temple, and Izumo's home, and the place that you've blown up... what, twice now? But you've got a kickass Mario Kart gig set up in the basement. And you let me cook in the kitchen and Izumo hasn't murdered me over it yet, so I guess that was okay.

Maybe it's not what it should mean to me. But if it was more, that means it also started out as less at one point, too. Who said it can't be more again?

[lionhearrt]

[ He's quiet for a moment, thinking it over. He wasn't wrong.

The barstool is pushed back and he stands, his hand going into his pocket. ]

The place doesn't matter.

[ He starts heading for the door. ]

The people in it do.

[ The bell on top chimes as he opens it and he looks back at him, a smile playing behind gold eyes. ]

Are you coming, or not?

[ Yata blinks at him a moment before scrambling off the stool to follow. ]

Hah? Coming where?

[lionhearrt]

You got a hold of your powers now.

[ And he did promise to teach him how to use them when they did. ]

[ He hasn't forgotten about that, but he'd sorta given up on it because he thought you had. ]

Well, yeah. Mostly? I think?

[lionhearrt]

Show me.

[ Is all he says as he walks out, the bell chiming behind him. ]

[ Yata follows him out, his steps hurried to keep up with Mikoto's longer strides. ]

How am I supposed to show you? Are we fighting something?

[lionhearrt]

You're a shinki aren't you?

[ He doesn't slow down. ]

You should be able to sense them too.

[ Ayakashi. ]

[thevanguard]

[ He can, now that they're outside, although he couldn't inside the temple. Hmm. Odd.

But he glances around as he follows Mikoto, trying to pinpoint where that uneasy feeling is coming from. ]

Are you still keeping them around here like before? Or did they just wander close? [ A worried glance up at Mikoto's face at that, because he's had some pretty chancy runs with ayakashi before now. ] You know I can't kill em.... right?

[lionhearrt]

[ They weren't 'chancy' runs, he had them exactly how he wanted them. But no, you had to come in and ruin all his hard work. ]

I don't need you to kill them.

[thevanguard]

Why aren't you killing them, though?

[ Isn't that why you gods are here? ]
