I'm curious about the other shinki here. From my understanding, we all are given unique forms or "vessels" which are used to serve our gods. These vessels can range from a variety of items, though they are primarily intended to be used as weapons or protection against Ayakashi. However, I haven't seen any lists of examples or surveys regarding what these forms may be. It's difficult to gauge what to expect without any examples to draw upon. A more comprehensive list of shinki forms and abilities would also be useful to newer gods and shinkis who may not be certain of what they're capable of, or how a more unorthodox form might be used.
If anyone is willing to share, I wouldn't mind keeping such a list up to date.
Of course, identifying details may be removed upon request. I'm more interested in knowing the variety of forms currently available and which ones are the most common type. Information from the "new" shinki would be preferred, as opposed to the "older" shinki from before the changes in the Heavens, though I'll gladly accept your information as a separate data group.
You can respond here or contact me directly, either is fine. [And here he leaves his contact details for the latter option.]
On an unrelated note, I'd be interested to hear from anyone who's familiar with or currently a cyborg or sentient machine. I've already met a couple of you. Perhaps there are others here?

[ yeah totally ignoring the wall-of-text ]

[If only he'd thought to actually ask for Genos' name at some point...]

Give me a better hint.

Unfortunately, the cat ran off shortly after your departure. I'm sure it's fine now, though. It didn't appear to be injured. [let's, uh, not discuss what might have caused any injuries...] So your name is Genos then, if I'm reading correctly? I guess it was my fault for not introducing myself properly. You can call me Add. It's a pleasure to formally meet such a superb specimen.
no subject
Really? [ so eloquent ]
no subject
[...that still makes him sound weird, doesn't it]
Anyway, it's nice to meet a person such as yourself. I didn't mean to offend, kuku.
Are you still in good health? I hope you weren't damaged too badly from that fire. Even if you're capable of generating your own, overheating is bad for machines.
no subject
Why are you so interested in cyborgs in first place? What's your plan?
no subject
...hmm. It probably wouldn't be a good idea to respond with "I kind of want to take one apart to see how it functions"...]
I'm not sure yet, but it's interesting to me... surely you've encountered something similar by now? It's strange, how we have no memories of our lives but some feelings can still leak through. I don't know why technology fascinates me so, but I'm certain that this is something that matters to me.
no subject
I don't think I'm be capable of swimming or buoyancy though. [ That's a working theory, and he's not going to test it out by jumping to a pool ]
Satisfied?
no subject
How much do you weigh?
[hahahaha, asking Add if he's satisfied after just a few simple questions, what a good joke...]
no subject
If you have this many questions, maybe you should rather compile a questionnaire first, and then send it to interested parties.
[ not that he's interested. he'd probably throw into a fire ]
no subject
... Ah, but I guess you wouldn't be able to answer that last one. That's unfortunate. [how do cyborg enhancements change one's senses?? It's a very fascinating subject in particular.]
Compiling a questionnaire in advance? That wouldn't be a bad idea, but it would take too long to compile that many questions, especially if some of them may not be relevant or may depend on answers to other questions. I'd end up missing out on quite a bit of vital information that way. It's much easier to simply ask as I go.
Besides, a pre-written questionnaire would just be too impersonal, don't you think? I'm interested in you as much as I'm interested in your enhancements, kukuku.
no subject
Besides, what part of "I'm a shinki, I don't remember anything about my life" you don't understand? Not to mention, most of the answers for the questions you ask would probably be classified.
no subject
If you don't know, then don't you think that would be important to find out? What if you were injured? If you don't have these things looked into then how will you know whether to call a medic or a mechanic? How can you be sure if either of them would be familiar enough with your unique situation to be able to handle it without a chance to study your body in advance? Negligence like that could spell life or death for you, you know.
Actually, how many people here do you think would even be able to repair a cyborg? That could be quite a problem for you.
no subject
Aren't shinki already dead? Is there a reason to concern oneself with such outcomes. [ he never had a self-preservation instinct in life TBH ] But I do see a point you're trying to make. I have an inclination that I could handle simpler repairs, but anything more than that, could be inconvenient.
I guess I have no other choice, but find an engineer if the need for one arises.
no subject
But like I said, it's much wiser to plan for these things in advance, don't you agree? If you're injured to the point where you're unable to properly communicate your injuries, it would make it even more difficult for you to find someone able to complete the repairs. If you gathered this information while you're still healthy and able, it would make the process much quicker and safer if the need for repairs arises.
Finding an engineer with the skills to repair a cyborg, though... if only there were someone here with a strong familiarity with machines and extensive knowledge in the field of robotics.
Oh, wait. I seem to be quite good with machines. What a fortunate coincidence!
no subject
Fair enough.
In theory how would such gathering of information happen? It's safe to assume that shinki while losing memory of their lives, don't lose skills related to them. I can fight and use the additional functions my body provides. Writing, reading, talking, cooking, all variety of skills is still there. I still have vague sense of how my body works, even if I don't know who made it.
[ ok now he gets idea ]
I assume it's the same for your engineering skills. You don't remember how and when you learned it, but it doesn't hinder your capability of using it.
Ever thought about teaching it? [ he could be persuaded to volunteer as a student ]
no subject
Although, I'd require a suitable volunteer for the lesson...
[Genos' and Add's ideas of "volunteer" are very much different, in this case. So if he's teaching a lesson about cyborgs that means he gets to open you up to do some research on the subject first, right??]
no subject
[ It's all for science! ]
no subject
Then I would be delighted to teach with you, kukukuku. We should plan to get started as soon as possible.
I'm surprised. You're quite a selfless person, despite how stubborn you've been until now.
no subject
I'm learning something new and useful, so there's clear gain for me there.
