Something occurred to me today and I realized that practically no one has mentioned it. We all know by now that sometimes we just randomly get items from home, usually in the strangest places, but there's something that I feel should be mentioned.

There are times where a shinki will suddenly remember something from before their death. This does not cause them to turn into ayakashi. I don't know what causes it, but one of my shinki, who is my best friend from home, woke up a few weeks ago and suddenly the day we met back home as well as several other events.

[Trying to keep this short here.]

He hasn't turned into an ayakashi with this knowledge. I don't know why he hasn't turned into an ayakashi, though I'm obviously not complaining, and since it's been a few weeks I can safely say he's unlikely to. Shinki, if you suddenly remember something, you should be okay. Gods, do not attempt to cause these memories yourself. There is something different about the shinki remembering these things on their own and us gods telling them these things. I would also assume that if Shinki A remembers something about Shinki B and tells B about it, B will turn into an ayakashi.

Anyway, if there are any shinki out there who woke up with memories they didn't have before and were panicking I hope this helps.

( She's seen Leo in the war meetings and has heard plenty about his intelligence. He's probably a much better opponient than she is. )

I mean, I beat him in chess just as often so turnabout's fair play, it's just annoying that I can't beat him in shogi! His idea of strategy is "stand in the middle of a grove of trees so dense a baby wyvern can't land in it and shoot everything"!

H-he's always been really good at everything he's put his mind to...

( He works so hard at everything and though he has his own reasons for doing it... she's always found it admirable. It's why he was chosen to wield the Fujin Yumi, after all. )

I... I really should thank you, Leo. I'm sure he's appreciated your company. I e-even heard the two of you spent time at the festival together!

[But he knows Sakura can tell he's just venting about Takumi and not actually serious. They're best friends, after all]

We did. He tried to get me to eat some squid something, though. I need to get back at him for that.

( She can definitely tell which is the only reason why she goes along with it for now. Otherwise, she'd probably be split between aggressively apologizing for Takumi while defending him at the same time. But Takumi's winning streak in shogi isn't going to start any diplomatic crises. )

Oh, but all of the food was so delicious. ( She won't mention anything about Leo being afraid of red bean...
But she's heard, Leo. She's heard. ) A-and you can try to get him... but you'll have to work hard if you can't even beat him at shogi, hehe.

( SHE WENT THERE... makes a jab at Leo. )

The line goes quiet for a second before Leo just. slow claps and chuckles]

( She's still giggling a bit. Once she starts, it's really hard for her to stop, sorry. But she manages to regain her composure because she really shouldn't be laughing at someone else's expense. )

Oh, but still... I sh-shouldn't laugh. ( She'll watch herself from now on. ) I-it's so good to hear things are well for you, Leo.

( Everything about this place and her circumstance is overwhelming but it's a relief to have friends here as much as it is to have family. )
