[ The video turns on to a shot of Yata looking... well, that's a little harder to tell right away because he's trying to appear as neutral as possible at the moment. Despite that, inwardly he's panicking a little.

He rubs a hand against the back of his neck awkwardly as he addresses the BBS. ]

So, uh. I'm guessing waking up to find your god's temple missing is a bad sign, huh?

[ Yata's in a Mood.

Despite the fact that he'd managed to keep it hidden in the video, after he shuts the feed off and sinks back into his own thoughts, he's left with all the worries and doubts he'd been trying to ignore since he woke up in a field this morning where his home had been. He hadn't been Nami's shinki long, but it had been long enough for him to start to like her and now, with her vanishing on him without a word or even a goodbye...

The niggling fear that it's somehow his fault, that maybe he hadn't been good enough or picked up on things quick enough, had maybe been part of the reason for her leaving... well they're not so easy to ignore at the moment.

He's still sitting under the tree he'd made the video from when someone calls out to him. He hadn't even heard him approach while lost in his own thoughts and Mikoto's voice makes him jolt a little. Inwardly scolding himself for being so careless, he just slumps back more firmly against the tree and averts his gaze, unable to meet his eyes. ]

What do you want? If you're here to yell at me more, I'm not in the mood...

[ Yeah, someone is still grumpy about the ayakashi incident. ]

No. *I'm* sorry.

[lionhearrt]

[ Mikoto watches him from his position. He wasn't angry, wasn't spouting lines of bravado which meant... He kept his thoughts to himself. ]

I was bored. [ He shrugs. ] So, I went for a walk.

[ And here he is. ]

[ Yata's head thuds lightly against the tree trunk as he stares up at the sky for a minute instead because he's not in the mood to get angry at the guy either. Even if he suspected maybe that would make him feel better. If only for a few minutes. ]

Yeah, well. Enjoy your walk then. Try not to blow up anyone else's temple while you're at it. Apparently we're coming up short.

[lionhearrt]

What if I blew up yours?

Would you still be sitting there? Doing nothing.

[thevanguard]

[ Yata just gives a humorless laugh and lifts a hand to absently rub against his right collarbone without even realizing it. The place his new name had been etched until he woke up without one this morning. ]

If that's what you're here to do, then you're a little late.

[lionhearrt]

You're still left.

[thevanguard]

[There's something about those simple words that sends a jagged stab of queasiness through him, catching him off-guard, and he makes an inarticulate noise, hands coming up to clutch at his hat for a moment until it passes.

He laughs again, even though it comes out a little choked-sounding before he lifts his head to scowl defiantly at the other god. ]

Yeah. I am.

[lionhearrt]

[ And it's that defiant scowl that finally tempers the Red King's mood. ]

Then stand up.

[ He didn't coddle the dejected. ]

[thevanguard]

[ Yata scowls at him, a hint of suspicion in his expression now before he finally huffs out an aggravated sigh and pushes himself to his feet. ]

Fine. I'm up. What do you want?

[lionhearrt]

You get one room.

[thevanguard]

[ Yata just blinks, confused. ]

Wait. What?

[lionhearrt]

The bar's Izumo's so you follow his rules.

[ You dent it, he dents you. ]

[thevanguard]

[ Another slow blink, because he's trying to follow the abrupt change of topic. ]

A room? Do you even have a temple right now? I thought you blew it up?!

[lionhearrt]

[ A smirk. ]

It came back.

[thevanguard]

[ Of course it did. If only it were always that easy.

Yata looks irritated a moment, but there's still hints of unease lurking in his gaze and certainly in his posture. ]

I don't need a pity handout. The others said I'd be reassigned.

[lionhearrt]

[ His grin spreads. ]

Who says it's a hand-out?

You'll be working for your room and board.

[thevanguard]

[ That gets another blink, suspicion wavering with confusion. ]

Working? Doing what? I don't know anything about bars.

[ He feels like he's missing something here. ]

[lionhearrt]

I need you to keep an eye on someone.

[thevanguard]

[ What.

Does he look like a watchdog to you?

Wait, don't answer that.

But still. ]

What? Who? Why?

[lionhearrt]

[ You'll be surprised how well you're suited to the task. ]

They're scared of me.

[ And no one is surprised.]

[ Yata just snorts at that. ]

That's because you're really weird.

Why am I keeping an eye on them? Are they supposed to be scared of you?

[lionhearrt]

[ His eyes sharpen, just a fraction. ]

You might need to be a bodyguard.

[ He looks at him. ]

So, are you up to it?

[thevanguard]

Depends.

[ Yata stares at him for a moment, shifting from one foot to another as he considers his answer. ]

How long are we talking here? Because if I do get reassigned, I might not have a say in what I keep doing after that.
