[After the turbulent events of the welcoming banquet, Sora is in need for good friends, hugs and junk food. And he knows there's others that could use friends too. He sends this text to everyone he possibly knows.]

riku and me are having a BBQ sleepover! \ (•◡•) / It’ll be great! i got lots of room at my place so bring blankets and pillows and pjs. bring your friends ok!

gonna have a firepit on the beach and fireworks and video games and food and movies and pillow forts and no actual sleeping and in the morning i’m making waffles. i’m ready to kick everyones butt at mario kart. (ง'̀-'́)ง

did i mention fireworks?

You will make no mention of any of this to Neku. As a shinki, he doesn't remember anything but his name, and it could be dangerous if he finds out about anything pertaining to his previous life. I won't have my shinki tearing himself apart.

[Afterall, he's gone through this with Riku and Axel already...]

[Joshua doesn't even bother responding, and simply leaves. Teleporting works. It's an ability of his at home, so it just feels second nature. Besides, walking takes far too long, and he's rather eager to find out what is going on.

Sora will have a knock on his door rather soon after the message was sent, actually!]

[There's a moment of silence before there is some frantic running and the sound of something wooden falling over. Then the door opens.] Joshua!

[He was right, it was Joshua standing at his doorstep. This confirmation makes him frown. So Joshua was here as a divine too.]

[... ah. Yes, he was right. He has no idea who this is. Still...]

Sora, I take it. [He's not moving, not until he's invited inside. But until then, he'll try to get as much read on his thoughts as he can.] Nice place.

[Sora gave him a worried look. This was confusing. Joshua was still treating him like a total stranger, despite being a God. Wasn't it only Shinki that forgot things? Sora remembers everything. Including Joshua helping him and Riku through Traverse Town and meeting Neku and all thier friends. So what's going on?]

Do you really not recognize me?

[In person, this is much better. He can pick up on things without having to explicitly ask. Traverse Town...? He's never even met anyone named Riku, let alone heard of a place called Traverse Town.]

I don't. Sorry to burst your bubble. [Joshua waves a hand dismissively. There's only one plausible explanation.] It's possible that we're dealing with alternate worlds, here.

[Naminé had said the same thing to him, he'd forgotten about that until now. She didn't know that she had returned to Kairi... Sora was beginning to think he had a lot more memories than everyone else.]

If we are then... how did...

[Of course, it's awkward to talk about how another Shinki died. So he doesn't finish his sentence.]

I was supposed to go see all of you in Shibuya. You, Neku, Shiki and everyone else.

[Hm. This is a lot of information to take in. At least he can store it for sorting out later, once he has faces to names. Right now, what he's getting is a lot of things that make no sense.]

Mm, that's something I'd rather leave undiscussed, if it's all the same. That's for my knowledge only.

[Haha... ha. If only because it might not look particularly good on him if... Anyway! Shibuya has been mentioned. Shiki has been mentioned. This is clearly not just some sort of coincidence, unless Sanae has spoken with him. Or Sho, but Joshua doubts he would have gotten Shiki's name from him.]

Mind giving me a little bit of background? I'm afraid I'm lost.

[Sora moves back into the house, waving at Joshua to come in. It was going to be weird telling Joshua everything that happened, because back in Traverse Town it had been Joshua explaining everything to him.]

Neku and Beat got separated from their partners and you all got stuck in Traverse Town. You asked me and Riku to help you all out when we were passing through! You couldn't get back to Shibuya until Riku and me managed to pin down the dream eaters with your help!

[He thinks about how they had become friends at the end of it all.]

[Joshua follows, albeit tentatively. This is still something he doesn't particularly want to do, but. Well, he's curious, and he didn't want to risk Neku finding out something that he didn't need to hear.

As Sora explains, he keeps mental note of what's being said. Neku and Beat. Separated from their partners. Sora had already mentioned Shiki by name, so that meant that Shiki was Neku's partner. That would mean Rhyme was Beat's partner. The first week, then? But why would they all be in a place called Traverse Town? He's never even heard of a place by that name. And the fact that they apparently were stuck there until... dream eaters?

And that thought? That thought is not helping. He does not like any part of this.]

And Traverse Town would be... where, exactly?

[He's already in. He might as well find out all he can.]

[Sora crosses his arms. Where was Traverse Town? That was a little bit of a loaded question, because it was a strange place.]

Traverse Town is a world outside of this one, I guess. It's a hub or a meeting place. It only appears when someone needs it. You'd told me something about the reapers and getting stuck there. You and everyone else had get back to Shibuya so you could finish a game.

[The details were a little blurry for Sora, Riku had always been better at remembering this stuff.]

[... Joshua is starting to believe that, whichever world's counterpart Sora had been speaking with, he's far too liberal with the information he gives out.]

Did I happen to tell you what caused it to appear, then?

[He can't imagine why he would have needed it. At the end of Neku's second week, it would have made more sense. But during the first week...? It had to have been early on, if Rhyme was still in the picture.]

[Sora sort of didn't want to say it at first, seeing if this Joshua was a different version of him from a different timeline or alternative universe it might be painful to hear. Not everyone reacted well to knowing their world vanished. So he hesitates a moment before he explains.]

Your world vanished and you used Rhyme's dreams to go there.

[Sora sighs softly.] So you really don't know about any of this, do you? Nothing is ringing a bell? At all?

[... ah. That, ah. For a moment, Joshua is silent, not quite sure that he's hearing correctly. Vanished? But he had decided not to destroy it. And if this all happened during Neku's first week, that makes no sense. What happened? What would have caused Shibuya to... vanish?

It occurs to him a moment later that Sora is still talking to him, and he shakes himself out of it.]

Not a bit, unfortunately.

[Exasperated, Sora huffs loudly. He was really looking forward to seeing Shibuya until all this happened. When he had learned they were here, it had been alarming for Sora but also he had been looking forward to another familiar face. Now Joshua didn't remember him and Neku wouldn't either and everything sucked. Big time. They were supposed to be friends.

Friends not remembering him was really starting to get him down in the dumps.]

Well, we should all hang out. I know you guys don't remember me or anything but we should anyway! And I want to see Neku too!

You can still see it here, you know. This is the right place. It just isn't the right Shibuya.

[He says it, as if Sora had voiced the sentiment aloud. Admittedly, Joshua hadn't meant to, but now that it's out... Well, it could be easily taken for an assumption, anyway.

Joshua will just have to sort this out later. Once he has time to relay what he knows to Hanekoma. More than likely, it's an alternate world. But if that's the case, who knows what Sora has found out that might or might not actually pertain to them?]

Ah, but you already know so much. What more is there to know? I'm sure Neku would be happy to make friends, though.

[Sora didn't know much about Japan in the first place so he assumes that Joshua was just being helpful. The catch goes right over Sora's head.]

There's a Shibuya here? Well if that's the case then we should all go visit it!

[With Neku, Axel and Riku all forgetting about him, Sora was finding that the only solution was to just have them get to know him all over again. Though, he did think that there might be a way for Shinki to regain there memories. Afterall- they were gods, why couldn't that be possible? He's not sure how yet but he'd try anything at this point.]

Thanks Joshua, at least he's got you for a god and he's with someone safe. That makes me really happy.

Yes. It's only partially correct, though. I've been.

[Shibu-Q is called Tokyu, 104 is 109, Towa Records is Tower Records... Really, if he didn't know any better, it feels like the name changes given in manga and anime to avoid copyright.

A story for another time, though. Sora's thoughts are still encroaching on his own - with his approval, of course - and goodness, Sora sure does seem optimistic about this whole thing. Joshua, on the other hand, tends to lean on the realistic side. Not quite pessimism, just what's more likely to happen. As far as he knows, a shinki regaining their memories isn't possible. Not without causing them to explode, anyway.

That remark makes him pause, though. He only looks like he's simply considering the sentiment, but in all actuality, he feels amused and possible the slightest hint ill.]

Is that so? Good to hear I'm so trusted.
