Shinki and gods: I, the Valkyrie, open the temple of Osiris to those of you who wish to train in combat.

Battle against the ayakashi is a service gods and shinki alone can offer the mortal world. Though mortals voice prayers for all manner of things, they have the strength within them to improve their own lot -- to vanquish their personal demons, to overcome their obstacles, to deal with their fellow man. Divine aid in these cases is a boon, not a necessity. Not so with the ayakashi, who as we know can only be truly defeated when god and shinki align their strengths.

Therefore your duty must be to defeat these enemies. As most of you gained your position here through arbitrary assignation, many of you lack the ability to fight, and thus your ability to perform that task. I shall rectify that, should you wish to fulfill your duty.

A worthy soul is chosen on death by the Valkyrie to serve as her Einherjar, to be trained by her and ultimately sent to Vahalla's halls.

The ones I have Chosen here require somewhat more worth than others, but should provide adequate challenge.

I'm a beginner with the weapon anyway, so "adequate challenge" is enough for the moment.

That is my duty and my purpose. I am the Valkyrie, whether or not I am Osiris.

[Duty is all she has. Quite literally, and by design.]

As they too are novitiates, this should be beneficial for all concerned.

We can all learn something, then. As long as there's someone competent in the room to point out when we're screwing it up, which I assume is going to be you.

Correct. You may also have the opportunity to train with others who seek me out, which will be beneficial as well.

When are you planning to start this? I have other training three days of the week, but I can make space for other times.

The temple is open. I have not set times. Should I be unavailable, those who wish to train will be alerted.

I've got nothing else urgent to do today, so I could at least come to you to start off and sort out a follow-up from there.

I assume you have equipment ready if you're offering this. I haven't been able to find a decent practice sword.

Equipment will be provided. Human weapons are inadequate for this use, so I will materialize what is required.

Most people aren't going to have access to anything but human weapons outside of training here, unless your materialisation lasts longer than just for that.

How else could I equip my Einherjar but to materialize weapons for them? What I create will remain.
