Heaven's BBS | Text
From: Katsuki Yuuri
Date: June 19
Hello :)
My name is Yuuri, and I'm a shinki of Bastet's. I've been here for several weeks and haven't really gotten around to using the BBS very much so far, but it's nice to meet any of you I haven't met before!
There are two things I wanted to talk about... or ask about, really.
First, I've heard a lot about the skills shinki are supposed to be able to use, but if any older shinki would be willing to explain more or help me train to use them better, I'd really appreciate the guidance.
Second, I wondered if anyone might have any guidance about how to find a part time job on the Near Shore. My god provides for us, of course, but I'd like to have a little bit of pocket money for things. My own clothes that my god didn't pick out, things like that. I thought maybe I might try to find work at a cat cafe, since that seems like it would be serving my god, too, or maybe at a dance studio since I seem to know a lot about that, but... I'm not sure, and I thought maybe it would be nice to brainstorm with some other people.
Thank you for your time!

My name is Lux, and it is a pleasure to meet you. Unfortunately, I only just arrived myself, so I will be of little assistance concerning skills that a shinki might know. I am, however, somewhat proficient with a sword it would seem, so should you need assistance with swordplay and technique, then I would be more than happy to oblige. We are only as strong and talented as what we know, and everyone has something that they can teach someone else, whether or no they believe that to be true.
Although I do have a question. What did you mean exactly by a part time job? I apologize, but I haven't heard of such a thing. Would you be willing to explain this to me? I am also unsure what you mean by a cat cafe, is this a place that serves only cats?
Looking forward to your response,
Lux Crownguard
[ The message, due to its size, has likely been sent in multiple text messages. Have fun with that, Yuuri. ]

Dear Lux,
It's very nice to meet you! Thank you for taking the time to write to me.
I'm not very much of a fighter, and not sure how much good I would be at fighting anyone -- honestly, even the idea makes me a little bit nervous. But maybe it would be a good idea to learn something like that, if only to improve my reflexes and so on... I don't really know how good a student I'd be, but I'd try my best, and be happy to teach you whatever I can in return, if that would be an acceptable payment.
A part time job is what it sounds like -- a job that you only do for a few hours a day or a week, to earn a bit of extra money without focusing all of your time on it.
A cat cafe is a cafe that keeps cats around for the customers to play with. They're popular with people whose landlords won't let them keep pets in their buildings, I think?
Again, thank you.
-Yuuri

As for a part-time job, I've been thinking about it too, but it's hard because people forget about us so easily.
no subject
I've heard people talking about it like it's possible, but it must be hard to get an employer's attention, right?

But I'd be happy to show you what I know about shinki abilities so far! Can you cast a borderline?
no subject
I've managed to cast a borderline a few times, and it seems easy enough. I don't really know much more than that, though!

Second one? Why bother getting a job? Those people there barely notice us, so you can just take what you want.

But are you being serious? I'm not going to go out and steal things!

[Not like confidence is a problem for him or anything, right?]
I could do something to do with dancing, I think. Otherwise, I should probably look at some kind of retail or food service job, since those tend to be more... the sort of thing you can learn on the job, and I'm not really sure I know how to do anything else.

i'm not a shinki but i do know that they can learn borderlines and can pick up a fair amount of decent magic that gods can't learn! both of my shinki are learning to strengthen their borderlines right now and i'm trying to get them into shinki magic! i think the best people to go to for asking about shinki stuff is kazuma or yukine. good luck, okay??
as for jobs, there's all sorts of cool ones you can get on the near shore. what kinds of stuff do you like to do?
no subject
I've tried borderlines a few times, and they don't seem too complicated. Someone else mentioned Kazuma... I'll keep Yukine in mind, too, hopefully they'll be able to help! It's just all very new, and my weapon form is a little bit useless, so I'd like to be able to do more for my god...
I don't really know. I like animals -- my god is a god of cats, but I like dogs a lot, too. Video games are fun, and I'm not bad at dancing... I'm not really sure how useful any of that will be for finding a job, but I'll work hard, whatever it is I need to do!

[ Is he supposed to be doing that for his shinki? If he is, they're out of luck because he is broker than dirt at the moment unless this place accepts gil. ]
no subject
But it's a god's job to provide for their shinki, right? And we're taken care of, it's just that the clothes are... more his style than mine, sometimes?

Hmmm I haven't been able to get a job but sometimes I help people on the Near Shore and they give me things.
