[The video feed starts on Ran, still very bandaged but clearly able to move on his own power again, unlike at the end of the Black Parade - a full 18 days ago.]

"There, it's turned on now. You're lucky I figured out how to work this thing while you were laid up."

[The voice comes from somewhere 'behind' the microphone. The phone is being handheld too.]

"I'm still not doing it. That was your decision, not mine. "

"Just thank your coworker for helping you back to your temple and be done with it. You owe him that much and it's long overdue with how long you took to heal up. Most pain-in-the-butt god power ever, I swear."

[ Really, it's not Ran's fault that he landed himself with an ability that injures him, and he doesn't hesitate to make his displeasure at the entire situation known, outright glaring at the shinki standing behind the scenes. In the end though, he grits his teeth and averts his eyes, tone curt despite the words themselves.

Yoon = 1, Ran = 0.]

"...Thank you."

[ A short pause, a raised eyebrow. Please don't make him repeat that? ]

"Good. You can have this back now."

[And the feed flickers briefly as the phone is handed back to Ran. Now the top portion changes: ]

It is pessimism when you voice it...! It's already understood that opinions are subject to change.

Not necessarily. Opinions are only subject to change if the one with the opinion is willing to accept a change, and if those who influence it either change their behavior or provide valid supporting reasons for why that behavior exists.

[ His reasoning: his opinion on Takatoris has not changed! He just refuses to acknowledge that Omi is one of them because he knows Omi isn't like they were. Grudging acceptance is one thing, because he has no choice in that, but no acknowledgement lest he have to restructure his views. Takatori = bad. ]

[After a long pause, Omi still isn't sure he really took all that in. Is Aya trying to say that unless he announces his mind might change, people should assume it won't? That seems rather extreme.

But Omi really isn't interested in trying to argue with Aya about it either.]

Well, it doesn't matter that much, does it? Hey! Have you been to see your sister much?

[Defuse and change the subject: flawless plan.]

[ And Omi throws him a curve. Hang on while he catches up! ]

Omi... I was unconscious.

[ No, no he hasn't. He should probably remedy that in the very near future, though. ]

[Yeah. Aya was unconscious while his sister was here, awake and aware of him, and unable to visit. What a reversal. Omi doesn't mention that, though. He keeps his cheerful chirping tone.]

Ah, we should fix that fast! Isn't it great you can talk to each other now?

I suppose so.

[ While the words seem flat, there's a hint of softness in his voice that only ever comes out when dealing with Aya. Or Sakura to an extent. Omi's got a point though. It's nice... but only as long as she doesn't end up finding out anything unnecessary! ]

And actually I did know his sister was here, but I wouldn't have let her visit at first anyway.

Things were still too bad off for him to be up and moving around on his own, until now.

[He's happy to take the blame for that one. He did know about 'the sister' because Youji mentioned it, but he didn't know her name anyway.]

[Omi considers that for a moment before offering a quiet and heartfelt:]

Thank you for taking care of him. I'm glad you were there to oversee his recovery.
