Hi everyone, my name's Kairi if we haven't met before. I'm a shinki and I saw a couple of my fellow shinki using their Borderline as more than just a barrier at the Parade awhile ago. I only know of one other way right now - kind of like a dagger in your hand - but are there other ways you know about?

Also if we didn't get to exchange names with all of the craziness happening, I'd love to have a name to go with your face! In particular I meant to find Seta Souji and....

Wow, really? I saw a couple of shinki use it so I didn't think that part was particularly rare.

I know that, used normally, borderlines can cut as well as block. I was unaware that they could be used like a dagger.

Maybe 'cut' is all that I saw, but I thought it looked kind of like a dagger because of people keeping it so close to the motion of their hand.

Perhaps. It made an effective weapon, in any case. I'm not familiar with any other uses, but if I learn of any, I'll share them with you.

I'm also curious about the limits of what they can cut or block, but that's hardly safe to experiment with.

That's definitely the kind of thing we should ask Kazuma or Bishamon about instead of experimenting with ourselves. Like you said, it's not really that safe.

I'm glad you know about the dagger way already, Erk. It'd be a lot harder to explain over video.

Sorry for being a little behind on information, but what exactly are borderlines? I've seen them mentioned a few times while I've been browsing this network, but never in much detail.

Also hello Kairi, it's Maria. I believe we met last month.

I don't know if I can describe what a Borderline is, but I know how we used it - it's a shinki's defense mechanism, apparently. We can make a hand gesture, draw a line, and fend off ayakashi from attacking us by making a wall. But apparently some people figured out how to make the line in middair as if cutting with a blade while fighting someone, but that's not as common I guess. That's what I meant by dagger form.

Interesting, I'm surprised more people don't discuss them. I'll ask my shinki how well-versed they are in them, but I'm not sure if either of them know how to do that. If you do find out, could you pass on the information? If it helps them in battle, then it seems like a variation on the borderline they should learn.

Using your borderline like a knife? Usually with students that I teach I tell them to think of it similar to a halberd, or like a sword. If given the chance I would like to witness one of your borderlines and add it to my notes.
