My name is Bishamon. I am a god of this world, a god of war and one of the Seven Gods of Fortune.

It has come to my attention that our situation is growing more dire. Many of you were witness to the demon attack on May 5 which lead to the relief effort several days after. I'm certain the most recent incident regarding those reanimated bodies is still a fresh memory to many of you.

I come to you all with a proposition:

To those who need to learn how to fight, I open my doors to you. My exemplar, Kazuma, has extended lessons to shinki in order to train them so I extend the same offer to any god willing to learn. There is only so much I can do with training you to utilize your shinki's abilities. What I offer will be how to fight: Using a weapon, self defense, protecting yourself and your shinki. I'd like to know how many of you are interested. For now, this is to gauge interest in how many of you need training. and what would be a suitable time for us to meet. As much as possible, I'd like for this to happen alongside Kazuma's own training sessions.

For those who already know how to fight, I would like ask for your assistance, as well.

If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them.

I'm capable in hand-to-hand, so if you need help teaching that I can offer it. Weapons I'm less familiar with, but if you're offering training in those, I'm interested. The only weapon I've fought with here is a dagger, and for something like that outbreak a few days ago, that's nowhere near enough.

I can imagine that there will be more than one or two who will be in need of training so I'd appreciate any assistance should the need arise.

Was there any weapon in particular you had in mind for your own needs?

You mean personal combat and not naval combat, or antipersonnel vehicle combat, or.... I guess... Not hitting monsters with cars till the car falls apart, correct?

And practicals, not just the theory of where best to hit a target?

Perhaps I should have specified that but yes. The form of combat training I can offer you will involve personal combat.

Practicals, of course. It's the least I can do to ensure everyone can hold their own against whatever seems to be amassing power lately.

I remember. You were the god intent on cleaning every inch of heaven when we first met, weren't you? Thank you for your hard work.

Even if you don't have any experience, I'll be happy to teach you what I know. Especially if it means one more god able to defend themselves in these dangerous times.

If you don't mind a shinki as a teacher, I have some hand-to-hand combat skills.

I wouldn't mind. The more there are willing to assist, the better we can ensure everyone gets proper training.

However, if necessary, will it be alright for you to teach shinki as well?

There are times when you have to be ready to take up arms. Not everything can be solved through non-aggressive means. I'm sure you mean well but whoever we're up against isn't going to give you the same consideration.

What I can teach you is how to defend yourself and your shinki or at least to defend yourself long enough to be able to make an escape with no one getting hurt as much as possible.

They may be or they may not be. It's too early to say and I'd rather not throw baseless accusations around. As for tracking techniques, those can come later. For now, I'd like to focus on teaching gods how to defend themselves.

Has anything been learned about the reanimated bodies?

Zeno would rather not go through that again.

Nothing so far, I'm afraid. However, what I can tell you is that this situation is highly unusual. I've never seen it happen before. At least never in the way you've witnessed.

[ She has her suspicions, however... but that isn't something she wants to voice right here in public. ]

I hope neither you nor yours were hurt.

I am good at defending myself, I've no need for training in that department...

But my shinki is very precious to me. I haven't really... used her in battle, for fear of hurting her, and would like to find a way to be more reassured of her safety. If that means learning to wield her more effectively, then I suppose it must be done.

If you can wield her, then she'll be in no better hands. I value my shinki, every one of them and the last thing I'd want is for them to come to any harm. However, they consider it a great honor to be used in battle. It gives them a sense of purpose.

I too am a god of war, though one with no experience at fighting the creatures we've been tasked to oppose. That said, I am not a stranger to combat of sorts, and I'd be happy to assist as I can.

What would you require of me?

There are several gods who have never had experience in combat before. I'd like to get them up to speed with the rest who are. If it's alright, could you teach basic skills to those who need it? Mostly to defend themselves.

In turn, I can tell you what I know about battling the ayakashi that often plague us.

I've been looking forward to meeting and training with Kazuma for awhile now. I don't know what you mean 'alongside' but... I think when it comes to fighting, I'm still really new at it.

As I'm sure you're aware, my Kazuma has been offering to teach newcomers techniques all shinki must know. It's only lately that I've noticed some newer gods needing training themselves.

So while Kazuma teaches the shinki, I can teach their gods. As soon as everyone's up to speed, I'd like to move on to teaching gods how best to utilize their shinki in battle.

There really isn't any need to thank me, Kairi. I'm simply doing what I can to make life easier for everyone. Kazuma's a patient teacher as long as the student is willing. I'm certain he won't mind your inexperience.

Having gods willing to teach in different fields would be good. Once we've gotten everyone up to speed with the basics, there may be others interested in taking up projectiles or more long range weapons.

[ This isn't a thing he would normally do, but he doesn't have much experience in fighting one-handed and it's something he needs to learn. And fast. ]

I've never used my shinki outside of naming him because I didn't want to risk hurting him, but I suppose now would be a good time to start learning.

As far as knowing how to fight though, most of what I know isn't something that can be taught to just anyone, but basic taijutsu and ninjutsu can be.

It's never too late. I understand many of you feel that using your shinki in battle might hurt them but I assure you: your shinki is the best line of defense against ayakashi in this world. The more used you are to wielding them, the less chance there is of them coming to harm.

I appreciate your offer. It'll be a good idea for everyone to have at least some knowledge of how to protect themselves.

There's a difference between fighting and defending yourself
There are dangers in this world that most newcomers are unfamiliar with
I'd rather shinki are capable of at least being able to create a borderline so they can protect themselves in case of their god not being around them.

Our shinki are our responsibility... therefore it is up to us to protect them whenever we can. Not all shinki can be utilized in battle and a borderline can only do so much.
