Hello to whomever might be reading this. My given name is Lara, and I am the current incarnation of Athena.
I've gathered I am not the first to bear her name, and I'd be interested in learning more about my predecessor. What sort of god was he/she? As I've begun settling into her temple here, I've found quite a lot of things that they probably left behind, and I also thought that perhaps it would be right to return them if any were on loan.
And I would also like to ask about the community's feelings on something. Truth be told, I've only recently begun to accept that the supernatural is real and there might be a higher power(s) at work. At least, until I woke up here and was hit in the face with it. It's a lot to absorb.
I'm feeling a touch overwhelmed and I'd like to know what role you believe a god should play. I've my own ideas, naturally, but I'm curious what others think. Do you want to live up to the legends of who came before? Do you want to change those legends into something else? Or is there something else you believe about divinity? I'm curious, so please, let me know your thoughts. It may help me better sort out my own.

From: Artemis
I like helping people, and I think the gods we are suit us. Or I think that's what the Heavens think. I don't mind doing some of the things that Artemis did, like hunting.

And it is nice to meet you, Artemis. I believe that would make us related, after a fashion.

You can call me Roxas if you want. Artemis and Athena are sisters, right? I'm kind of the wrong gender to be a sister.
no subject
And yes, they are sisters, Roxas. Half-Sisters. Artemis's mother was Leto, and Athena's was Metis. But Zeus was their father.
As for us, maybe think of me as a distant cousin, eh? ;)

[Be honest. Sora doesn't always make the best impressions on people.]
I feel bad for whoever shows up here as Zeus. There's a few of us here that would be his 'kids'. My friend Sheryl is one of the Muses, and there's others in the pantheon I haven't actually met but I know they're here.
Cousin is fine by me. I like having family.
[Family is a good thing. His former home taught him that much, so he wants a big family here, too.]

And you know, as the stories would tell it, Zeus was pretty alright with having a few kids laying around. He had quite a number.
Family though, that's a good thing. Admittedly I'm a little rusty at it, but hey, no time for a refresher like the present. We're all in this together, after all.

Hera wasn't. If we ever get her here and someone decides to act on her legends, we might have trouble.
Not a lot of people feel like that about our god families here. I asked about it once and a lot of them said it was a waste of time.

And it sounds like those people haven't ever had to go it alone. They're probably complacent with their circle. Or they'd come with friends and settled. Nobody wants to face everything alone.

I came here with friends, but I like making a new family here. I know Sora is like that, too.
[They've got a pretty big family already that keeps growing.]

Sora seems like the sort who'd befriend anyone, regardless of whether or not they deserved it. I've not run into someone quite so outgoing before.
no subject
He's always been like that. It's what a lot of people like about him. Or really dislike.
no subject
Or with being outgoing. He isn't the pushy sort, I felt.
no subject
He can be pushy. If he likes you a lot it can happen.
no subject
We'll see though, but I doubt I can get sick of someone so enthusiastic.
no subject
You can always tell him to stop and calm down. He'll listen to that.
