Is it weird that parts of this feel normal and parts of this feel like a simulation? It's strange and I get uncomfortable thinking about why some things seem really off without me being able to pin point why they are off. Also, realizing I died in what are probably my early 20's sucks.

So on to a more important question! What do shinki do for fun around here? I know there's cooking, cute goddesses and wine but I'm feeling a little boxed in by the weirdness of it all and could use a few more distractions.

That still sounds useful. I haven't seen a lot of stores up here in the afterlife.

Well, either way, I'm going to try to impress some people with it and see how it goes. In the meantime I need to find some other hobbies.

Well it may be useful, but only to anyone who likes wearing dresses. There are plenty of boys - and some girls - who don't like wearing them.

I guess it can be fun to try a bunch of new things, but if you're the super awesome kind of good at cooking, I don't think that's bad either.

You mean ya don't already know? I mean, I know we don't have our memories and stuff, but I feel like I at least know what kinda person I am.

So far, mostly drinking. And apparently there's some pretty gory theatre shows I'm missing out on. Zombies on TV too I guess.

It does cut ayakashi. If you're attacked by one on your own, it can be your defense and your attack.

I don't think I'm a master chef or anything but it looks like I must have had a lot of practice. It doesn't feel like what I want to be doing with my entire afterlife either, you know?

Must be nice. I couldn't tell you what I am going to do next, let alone what I'd do in a situation like that. I guess I was a spontaneous kind of guy.

Drinking's already on my list. Not sure I care about gory shows. Maybe zombies.

How do you cut something with that?

[Now he's interested. Not just blocking but actually fighting. So far he's got his fists and possibly a hand gun, though he doesn't know how that works on them.]

-- But don't expect it to kill an ayakashi. They regenerate quickly from anything except attacks from a god wielding a shinki, but it can slow them down.

There's a first time for everything in this place, I'm finding. All of this free time means I get to wonder if gory theatre shows are interesting.

So we can cut them but can't kill them. That's the gods. At least we can give them something to think about.

[Probably better than fighting monsters with his fists.]

Should I give it a try? Does it just happen or is this one of those "feel the force" kind of things?

Exploring, bothering other people, practicing shinki magic, and that's about it. I'm probably going to check out stores in town and see if anything interests me there too.

No money, not even sure how to get a job like this. They really should pay us. I could just take something though.

Try something more active. At least then you'll be less bored, even if you don't care for it.
