Is it weird that parts of this feel normal and parts of this feel like a simulation? It's strange and I get uncomfortable thinking about why some things seem really off without me being able to pin point why they are off. Also, realizing I died in what are probably my early 20's sucks.

So on to a more important question! What do shinki do for fun around here? I know there's cooking, cute goddesses and wine but I'm feeling a little boxed in by the weirdness of it all and could use a few more distractions.

Try taking up a hobby! I'm sure there are plenty of skills you might find a use for.

Online courses are also a good way to avoid the awkwardness of interacting with the mortal world.

It looks like a couple hobbies come easy to me already. Cooking's good for passing the time but I'm looking for other less constructive things. What's fun around here and the other place?

[It's not something he'd normally suggest -- it's certainly not his preferred form of entertainment -- but it springs to mind somehow. Maybe he's thinking of Elsa. She'd have been holding her ballroom dance classes today, if she were still here.]

Speaking of distractions though, apparently I'm not a bad cook. If you have something you like I could always cook us up something sometime.

Anyway, how'd you find that out? You cooked for someone already?

Yeah, someone had apples and asked for cooking ideas. I offered to help and when I went to get stuff at the store it just all came to me. I grabbed what I needed for apple curry and got to work.

So, if you want something just let me know and we'll see just how good I am.

[He's not going to say he jumped on the idea because the girl that said she wanted to know what to do with apples was cute, but that was what got him to figure this out.]

Besides, now you're always going to have a youthful body for any adventures you get into now. Or just dealing with prayers.

Yeah, but how would I know if it was some big bang or just choking alone in my apartment or something?

And sure, I'm youthful. But I'm dead. Who knows what kind of life I could have lived!

So you're not one of the types who see this as a fresh chance to do all the kinds of things you didn't get the chance to do before.

If some shinki came up to me and said they died in some amazing way, I'd probably laugh at them. Why bother lying when every already knows you are?

And I don't even know what type of person I am yet. I have to figure that out when I'm not trying to figure out how to do what it is they brought me here to do.

I don't think that's weird at all. We don't have memories, so things are just... more familiar and less familiar for no reason at all.

I'm not saying you can't be upset, but you should at least know there are other shinki here younger than even their 20's. I've met a boy who can't be older than 10.

I'm pretty new too so I don't know about distractions - meeting everyone has been the most interesting part so far.

Man, recruiting dead kids seems kind of low doesn't it? What does a 10 year old have to make up for? Shouldn't they get a free pass to the easy after life?

And yeah, meeting people is pretty cool. Finding out what I'm good at has been fun too.

I think so too. I wish it wasn't true, but I'm not much older than him I don't think.

How have you been doing that? I'm still looking for ways myself.

Well, I'll let whoever have a piece of my mind on the kid thing later. As for what you're good at? You just have to get lucky. Try new things and see what comes easy.

I had motivation to try cooking for someone recently and it turns out I'm not half bad.
